Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

His Guinea pig doesn't look too saintly though ;).

That's because he's a Bunny Rabbit.

I love bunnies; over the years we have rescued 9 Runny Babbits. Do not be fooled for a second by their cute appearance, they are a Most Fearsome Beast. Over the years I have lost gaming Sennheiser headphones, a twenty dollar bill, telephone connections, and other devices with cords due to their Fearsome Teeth. Bunnies are basically beavers in disguise. They always toss their food bowls as if in disgust. I could go on.....

Thargoids are nothing in comparison.

Spotted some NHSS in Chapsugaibo today. Denton Patreus HQ. Also in CD-54 471 and LTT 1044.

Edit: I see they're next door to CD54-471...as noted in the first post.

Thanks - you reminded my to update that post as it was a bit (too) blunt and unhelpful about the 10 Ly thing. Basically yes, that happens, and feel free to take on the Thargoids for your RP pleasure, but only killing them in the actual target systems will have any effect come the end of the week ;)

Beta Q. While I have been doing beta stuff, I haven't run off to try out thargoids there. Is there any confirmation of the ONE report that the interceptor shields start on and do not fade over time. I say one report because we need two or more witnesses to establish a thing, that's why i ask.

I suppose I can just go find one and find out myself, but I was testing and trying the new stuff and if someone else already checked it out I don't have to repeat the work.

Aegis jumped to Ulchs and MCC 572, we lost 2 this week - Brib & Ngaiawang. Looks like the targets this week are Jupaloku, Oraon, and Thraskias - still need them EE confirmed (I did not find 'em :) )

Edit: Apparently systems are full-range NHSS, except Jupaloku which seems to be a Hydra den

In the defence of Ngaiawang i ment alot of CMDRs. More than i have in a while. I even got chased by HALT. I killed more scouts this week than i have in any week, and yet Ngaiawang still got hit.

I just found 2 NHSSs Level 8 within 1ls away from the Vanguard in MCC 572 and also a military convoy of 4 T9 (threat 4) at the same distance.

Eagle Eye a bit broken this week - two confirmed targets in Dulerce and Thraskias. Still think either one or both of Jupaloku / Oraon are targets but cannot confirm them

I wouldn't say pointless, but I do wonder if there have been some "GM errors" - I guess the decisions about whether attacks take place are done by hand.

yeah - pretty sure. You can tell when the attacks are dialed in on Wednesday evening (uk time) as the aegis ships get updated flight plans. This has varied from about 2pm through to past 6pm, so it seems someone looks at the kill stats, then works out new targets and queues them up (if it were computerised it would be less variable I imagine). Mostly it is ok, but some weeks they ask the intern to do it, and it ends up a bit broken :)

(Though this week seems more like we need Dav to kick the servers)

Edit: Re: pointless - depends - if it's your faction's home system then maybe you don't want to spend the next month+ shipping cargo to repair it <shrug>

Well in any case I think in the future most of my group is going to end up taking the stance of "just let it fall". We wasted a week on this distraction we could have been doing many other things only to have the same outcome.

Maybe when FDev realizes nobody cares anymore they will just remove the Thargoids.

But probably not. They would rather see their game burn than sacrifice their precious story for meaningful gameplay.
