Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Shameless selfquote:

I am in Ross 129. I can confirm, only scouts, no megaship.
edit 19:30:00 now there is confirmed Basilisk or Medusa some truffle lured infront of the station Yang Hub

Traffic numbers are ingame stats from Station Traffic Reports and logged kills are taken from Lab 69 Metrics & Data

Let's see what these numbers might tell us:

Ross 129 had a traffic about 170 ships before the incursion. After the incursion this number raised to about 400 ships per 24 hours.

This is a plus of 230 ships. Because numbers on weekend always are higher, let's round down to a plus of 200 ships that came for AX fight.

Lab 69 has logged 2769 kills for Ross 129. Top 9 commanders doing 2006 of these kills. This gives us an average of roughly 200 kills in the top 10 list and 700 kills in the lower ranks. If we assume an average of 20 kills in the lower ranks, this means that Lab 69 has approximatly 45 (700/20 + Top10) logging commanders in Ross 129. So we can assume an average kill count of 60 scouts per logging commander.

If approx 45 dedicated commander are logging 2700 kills, how many kills might the rest of the 155 (200-45) passing ships have done?

Let's estimate a very low number... let's say 15 kills in average per passing ship. **That would be 2325 unlogged kills per night (Fr,Sa,Su) = 6975!! ***

That would be an estimated total of roughly 9.675 kills (6975 unlogged + 2700 logged) in Ross 129 up to now, probably more.

Of course all this is not much more then mere guesswork. I have no idea if this numbers represent anything real. Just an idea.

Good effort!

edited multiple times. biggest change unlogged kills *** each day *** makes the assumed kill number much larger clearly. I don't know, maybe this whole thing is just nonsense.

Hi! I've found this forum finally. :-D I'm killing scouts now in the indicated systems. Question: I've installed the uss survey plugin for EDMC - do I have to do anything with it, or does it report scout kills automatically?

Hello Commander! Uss Survey plugin registers your kills automaticly. You can chose in the settings (EDMC/SURVEY PLUGIN) if you want to have your commander name shown or be anonymous. Top 10 Commanders are listen on the Lab69 Page form Canonn.

Good Hunting

Pretty new to thargoid hunting, I use a viper mk3 for scouts and it's quite fun, plus a decent rail practice. Btw, awesome job taking care of the thargoid near Yang Hub, kinda weird that it high-waked out of there lol.

Or if you assume that the average non-logged commander makes as many kills as the average logged commander - not implausible, given the system's importance to the Alliance player groups - you'd be looking at something more like 36,000 kills over the weekend.

Slight catch: you can't go from traffic report 200/day and then subtract 45 logged commanders from that - if those logged commanders just stayed in the system, they'd only count once. Conversely if they repeatedly had to high-wake away from some Thargoid fights and return, they might actually be all of that 200.

Nevertheless it certainly looks at this stage like Ross 129 will be saved ... and the other two don't stand a chance.

I jumped in, but haven't jumped out yet. Having too much fun fighting Scouts in VR. Tried to see how close I could get them to spawn to asteroid rings. 3.3 has higher than NHSS 8s. :)

I'm hoping the new USS changes in the beta doesn't spread them all over the system like it does near the Pleaides. If so, it's going to slow down Thargoid Scout killing considerably due to the distances involved.

Confirmation notice: Ross 129 repelled the Thargoids. The two other attacked systems HR 3499 and LHS 6187 now are on fire.

logged kills final:
Ross 129: 3.369 kills / HR 3499: 1.424 kills / LHS 6187: 27 kills

Targets this week : Dhanhopi, Jambin, LHS 2524

Goddard Hub [HR 3499] and Hooke Gateway [LHS 6187] attacked this week

Eagle Eye targets this week:
Eagle Eye this week:

EE2 pleiades sector av y c7 1b in
* HIP 19026 TS1
* Dhanhopi Plucker Enterprise (repairing)
EE3 pleiades sector bg x c1 10 14 a
* Pleiades Sector JM-W d1-52 TS188
* Jambin - Chiang prospect
EE4 mel 22 sector zu p c5 1 4 a
* HIP 14702 - TS20
* LHS 2524 - Haberlandt Station

Three Thargoid Structures and three Targets again this week - interesting that Plucker Enterprise in Dhanhopi is being targeted despite still being damaged from it's last attack.

Systems are saved by kills in the target systems- each kill counts the same, so a Scout is as useful as an Interceptor. Bonds do not matter.

Which one is priority for defence?

Haberlandt Station in LHS 2524 will be an uphill struggle to repair, it's 339Kls out.

Locations of the Aegis megaships Acropolis and Vanguard.

* NHSS will be found in systems within 10 Ly of target, the systems are not being targeted for attack - you can kill Thargoids from them, but it won't help save any systems.

I will get back into it, waiting eagerly for chapter 4 to launch (I don't want to use the Beta, it will spoil it for me :D ) I will definitely be hitting up those Thargoid CZ's!!!

OK, just landed in LHS 2524.

In all honesty, I didn't realise it was possible to repel Thargoid attacks. I thought they were just optional and were going to do what they did and where just there to fight if you wanted to. I really like the idea of being able to drive them off and protect the stations if enough of them are killed.

I found Haberlandt well worth the run - I have 3, 4 ,5 ,6 and 8's here so far.
Found a 7 there yesterday. 5 scouts and one extremly hostile flower ship (it was red) that immidiatly used the emp. The swarm had 64 or 128 kamikazebugs. I made it out alive.
