The Deep Space Support Array (DSSA) | A FleetComm Initiative

A question to you (DSSA) fleet carrier owners: Do you need to travel your carrier to the bubble (or colonia, or somewhere) to be able to fit the new concourse services (Pioneer supplies etc.)? Because I'm currently near Pilgrim's Harbor in Hieronymus Delta and am looking forward to being able to purchase an Artemis suit from a fleet carrier, but I'm wondering is it worth my while to hang around here for some days hoping that the carrier will get upgraded, or should I just move on and hope the next carrier I arrive to is updated by the time I get there.

A related question - will (or could) the EDAstro map show which fleet carriers have the services (Pioneer Supplies especially)?
Well, even if you weren't looking for Pioneer Supplies, you'd have to hang around not for a few days, but for a few weeks or months to see a current carrier refitted. But the thing is, the Pioneer service has a surprisingly high upkeep, five million credits per week, and all it offers are the basic G1 versions of all equipment: so, chances are that few carriers will install it, if any. Right now, there are four carriers on the DSSA tracker that (will) have Vista Genomics, and zero of them listed Pioneer Supplies.

So, from your location, your best bet would be to go to Sagittarius A* and purchase the Artemis Suit at Explorer's Anchorage. Not an appealing prospect, I imagine, but that's how things are.

Oh, and the EDAstro interactive map does already show which fleet carriers have what services listed. If you click on the respective pins, it's there in the text.

Speaking of which though, you can also use the EDAstro map, and also Inara to check for other carriers outside the DSSA that have stayed anchored, and see if perhaps any of them have Pioneer Supplies. For the reasons above, I doubt there would be any, but it's not impossible.

Update: I remembered that you can also download EDAStro's carrier sheet here, and check that. As it turns out, right now the nearest carrier to you that does have Pioneer Supplies is V1W-7KB Pathfinder in Schienau MY-R e4-76, but it appears to be moving, and that location is almost at the same distance as Colonia would be.

Thanks, this is good to know! Yeah, I think I'll then stick to my original plan of making a round-about route to eventually reach Colonia, traveling via DSSA carriers on the route. If some carrier I arrive to would happen to have the Supplies then, that would be a lucky bonus, but otherwise I'll expect to get my suit eventually from Colonia then.

The next [STAR] Colonia/Beagle Point shuttle leaving on the 24th from TIR will have all services including Pioneer. I think it may be still too far away for you but the route is Tir - Great Annihilator - DSSA Ronin - Izanami SCG Bubble (Bleethuae NI-B d674) - DSSA Pegasus - Luna's Shadow (Smootoae QY-S d3-202) - DSSA Eleanor - Beagle Point

Greetings fellow travelers, passengers, CMDRs in general!

DSSA Destiny Ascension will be heading towards Colonia on 19-03-2022 (today), approx. 09:00 in-game time.

During that time, [STAR] The Coffee Box, under ID HHF-7HQ, will be at your service in the original system as a reserve carrier, offering the same services.

The Fleet Carrier will be refitted with new modules that came with Update 11 + a shipyard service will be added into the mix.

After refits, the Fleet Carrier will include: RRR (Rearm-Refuel-Repair) services, Universal Cartography, Shipyard, Concourse Bar, Vista Genomics and Pioneer Supplies.

The entire trip will take approx. 24-28 hours in total, maybe less. We are talking about 80 jumps all together, which are time consuming and telemetry errors could appear, postponing the jump process. Why do I even bother paying the Asari maintenance crew...

DSSA Destiny Ascension will be back in its original system on 20-03-2022 (tomorrow), exact ETA is unknown.

Bon voyage!

Due to the Odyssey update some of the DSSA FCs will return to the bubble/colonia to add the new services (I assume the council will post some more infos in the days to come).

The DSSA Aristarchos will make the trip starting April 1st and I hope to return to Eocs Aihm XX-U d2-6 within two weeks.

Why I'm writing this: if some of you guys are either

a) in or around the Xibalba region (far south of the Galaxy) and want to catch a quick ride back to the bubble or

b) are in the bubble and want to get to Xibalba/cross the arm gap without worry

try to dock at the DSSA Aristarchos until April 1st or dock at it in bubble, once we get there within a couple of days. I will stay in the bubble at least 24h for restock/refill etc, so there should be plenty of time to get on/off. The current position should also show on Inara.

Of course, during this time the DSSA Aristarchos (and other effected DSSA FCs) can't be used and their status will be updated in the document/EDAStro. So be especially wary during April if the DSSA FC in question is on location.

Safe travels CMDRs o7

Attention CMDRs,

DSSA Destiny Ascension has come back from Colonia and is now back on station, thus will continue providing its services to explorers in Scheau Blao TB-A c28-274.

[STAR] The Coffee Box, under ID HHF-7HQ, is now relieved of duty. Thank You, CMDR Rick Floss for your needed assistance.

I thank You all for your patience and hope to see you at the bar soon.

o7 and take care.

Quick request to whomever maintains https://bit.ly/dssanetwork these days: While it was a good move to add serial numbers to the various carriers, it was not a good move to make the header row of the table have 20 columns, while all data rows have 21 columns. Could you please either restore the extra cell to the header row to restore the original behavior, or drop the empty cell at the start of each data row?

Paradox Destiny is back on-station in Temple. It has added Vista Genomics and the bar, but not Pioneer Supplies. I figure it's close enough to the Colonia road that there are other nearby opportunities to grab space suits.

Glorious Dawn was filling in for Paradox Destiny during the refit, and will remain here for a little bit as well. You can visit either carrier for the time being. It's advised that you do not log off while docked to Glorious Dawn, since I have a habit of moving it without warning. ;)

Greetings fellow Explorers!

The DSSA Gene Roddenberry will be departing the Trojan Belt for refit today, returning approximately April 7. During her absence she will be replaced by the CSC Good Samaritan, which will provide refit/rearm/repair, shipyard, UC and Vista Genomics services. Sorry, the bar is not currently open, but there may be some toilet bowl liquor below decks with the enlisted!

Cheers - Cmdr Mercillus

I 'm exploring deep inside Vulcan Gate atm, just roaming around in a DiamondBack Explorer, with my carrier about 2.500 light years away, towards Errant Marches. Did a detour to visit the DSSA Inverness carrier.

Located in Thraikoo PS-U e2-4, just about the middle of the Vulcan Gate region, the DSSA Inverness sits in a very beautiful system. Basic star is a black hole, surrounded by a hazy, colorful, tiny one system nebula. Reminded me of the DSSA Enigma (which i have also visited and sits in a Neutron star system with a similar tiny nebula, north west of the Colonia region). Carrier orbits a water planet. It also has a lot of Tritium for sale if anyones carrier is close by and in need. Landed, sold a bunch of cartographer data, had drinks and now .. back on track! Visited the black hole before jumping out, nice views, exclusion zone was 25 kms, harmless.

Plenty of Neutron stars close by to jump start me back towards my carrier. Then possibly changing to an Asp Explorer for variety.... and on we go, deeper into the black..!!

Hi DSSA commanders

I'm on new mission in my exploration ship equipped with mining outfit - mine and delivery fuel for DSSA carriers in occasion of exploration.
Feel free send me PM on Inara (works perfectly) in case of emergency fuel with location - star system and eventually carrier name.
Because I prefer solo mode probably delivery will appear from magic void, but anyway will works.
o7 and thanks for good work

P.S. Placing FleetComm on Discord was sick idea in my opinion, last hour I was invited and so... I set up whole fresh account and was disabled in 15 minutes by automated spam service! Before my initial login. Never before on Discord and never more. I'm sent ticket to staff but no hope.

o7 Cmdr -

The DSSA carrier are - with the notable exception of the ongoing 'Operation Boomerang' (for refitting ODY Internal Modules) - all stationary Fleet Carriers - and other than possibly providing some Tritium for a passing FC - generally are not in need of any themselves...I am fairly certain that there are plenty of squadrons or groups that do actually mine for profit in deep space...You might want to check out IMU (Intergalactic Mining Union)...

Sorry for your Discord troubles...I would recommend you try and persevere: there are hundreds - if not 1000s of E : D groups and communities running on Discord - and highly developed information resources are also available...(this doesn't even include similar player communities for any other game or hobby you can think of)

FleetComm has been running on Discord for longer than I have been playing (Feb 2018) and has users from all over the globe...I like it personally as it lets me easily stay in touch / respond to questions from even my mobile devices when I am away from my PC.... Getting your Discord sorted out should be far easier than grinding the Federation rank to unlock the Corvette

Cheers

Further into my travels, i descended into Errant Marches. Left my DBX on my carrier towards the border of the region, and continued my journeys with an Asp Explorer, 71 lys jump range with a full fuel tank. I visited all the known attractions in the area, and ended up landing on yet another DSSA carrier, the DSSA Maerzenbecher in the Hedgo GL-P c5-4 system.

Not too far from the border with the Formidine Rift region, the Nautilus class DSSA Maerzenbecher carrier sits in a system with an earth like world and an ammonia world, among other things. Elite dangerous star map has a wrong entry of a water world in the system, but if there ever was one... it ain't here no more! The carrier floats high over the earth like world, which seems to be having a harsh winter, and is almost half covered by ice.

The area relatively close to the carrier is mostly unexplored, so i 'm currently doing daily exploring excursions in it, ending up on the carrier bar every night! And since the carrier is operated by a German player group, the beer variety at the bar is extraordinary! Wish i had visited in October! 🍺🍻🍺 !

Next destination, after a detour to refuel my carrier, the Formidine Rift! Haven't been there in years. I'll head towards yet another DSSA carrier, the Brazilian Flag, which is conveniently in the way, in order to sell discoveries! Looking forward! Not many regions carry the mystery of Formidine Rift! Or a brazilian carrier! 🥁

The DSSA Aristarchos has completed its refitting and is back on station in Eocs Aihm XX-U d2-6. Selling of Tritium at 100k/ton also is open again (serving as STAR Depot).

Hope noone came by expecting me to be there (saw some visitors to the system two days ago according to EDSM, hope they did not overlook the refitting). DSSA has every new service and will remain stationary again for the forseeable future.

Safe travels CMDRs! o7

First of all, I thank everyone who participates in the DSSA project. I have been in black for two years and your carriers are life savers for explorers like me. I see that the refitting has started, that's great news. I'm wondering if it's possible to mark on the ED Astrometrics Interactive Map in some way, maybe with yellow geotag carriers that have already been refitted, so it would be easier to plan routes because hundreds of exobiology samples on board make me nervous. I am currently enjoying some R&R at DSSA Totoro (Norma Arm, Greae Phoea XF-D d13-50). Thank you for your hospitality. 😅 Thanks a lot for the effort Cmdrs! o7

FYI, the popup text on each carrier's marker lists the services that the owner has listed as available. Vista Genomics is available in the list now. Not all carriers are doing the refit, of course, but quite a few are either in the process of doing so, or already have completed. For an example, you can look at Paradox Destiny in the Temple region (to the left of the Colonia highway).
