Yea it is great! Only boosted me into the side of a station 5 times! IT IS AMAZING! 10/10 would crash again. (to be fair it did save me once from blowing up because of an acidental boost)
Edit: why didn't i record those incidents? They would have made a hilarious fail montage!

2 for 2 landings at the moment, and the 2nd one I was "holding" before it boosted me in.... Gonna make those long Rare Trade routes a lot quicker now (dumped the fuel scoops for it as I can refuel en-route, QUICKLY!)
Yes, but I just used it twice(once at a station & once at a outpost) to see how AI landed as I figured that was best way to do it.
I never leave home without one (well that and a fuel scoop

Use it all the time for my 'special cargo' deliveries. Go flying absurdly fast through the port opening in silent running, then throttle down and flick the docking module on. Saves lots of time fiddling around

Just had my first problem with it now docking with my cargo full of rares. Hitted the wall had to turn off and maneuver with my shields down. It was fun lol
Oh no, it's not indeed!!! Don't trust all the other people, DC is a trap crated by nasty DEVs! Thanks to Sire you'll be warned about it: DC works fine as long as you have money enough to afford rebuy BUT, and hereon you can realize how evil are DEVs, the first time you don't have enough money DC boosts right against the opposite side of the station respect to the letterbox. And now my friend don't say that Sire didn't tell you!!!

What about when your smuggling as it slows yiu down near space station allowing scans, got me an 8k fine lol. Not used it since
Plus the fact I quite enjoy landing, keeps you on your toes
Just fly through the mailslot like normal when you're smuggling, once you get inside the station set throttle to 0 and you'll be just fine
I made many many docks with it on my type-6 and it never had an issue. It's much slower than if I do it manually. But it's a nice break.

Whats the best way to find a standard docking computer?

I should be able to find one in Lave. I've been to Lave and a good portion of the surrounding systems (Leesti, Lave, etc) but simply can't find it.

Sorry im not sure as everytime im in Lave I get such bad stutter its impossible for me to keep playing

OK, I found one. I ended up hopping through a few hi tech sectors before finding one.

If it helps I use the docking computer when I run contraband.. I'm capable of manual docking but when I have illicit goods the DC gets you touched down pretty fast. Rarely do I get scanned.. especially if I run silent..
No offense guys, this is a SIM. Landing is great. And so easy I guarantee I can land faster than that thing. But to each there own I guess. I really hope frontier doesn't look at this as we as a whole don't like to control our ships, and when planet landings come we have to watch it. That will ruin the game for me completely. I didn't buy this to watch the computer do the cool stuff
