Well, I enjoy manual docking. So this thing isn't for me; unless I get a 'conda. To me, part of the fun is the actual docking. I might own one if it was just a software upgrade that took no space, but it most likely would never be used past once or twice to make sure the thing works. But hey, if it's your thing and you want one, go for it. To each their own.

Same here. Specially now that I'm flying large ships (Anaconda and Cutter). I like to come in low on the pad as quickly as safety allows me and just cut the gas when over the dot and get docked. But each ship has its own thing in landing. After landing the Anaconda for several months, I had to learn how to gage the altitude of the Imperial Cutter so that I could dock when I get right over the dot on the landing pad. I rarely use the vertical thrusters, only when I'm coming in too fast or didn't pay attention and I'm in a botched landing.

Equipped a DC on my Python as I was doing some trading to build funds. First time I've used one since 1.2.

Throttled back and was startled by the booster going off sending me headlong toward an outpost. Took a leap of faith to not wrench the controls. It's certainly been improved in both speed and stability. I've outrun scans using the DC (Not that I had anything nefarious on board at the time).

When smuggling I hit zero thrust coming through the mail slot and the DC picks up, slows me down and lands nicely. Very well done.

I skipped through the training mission. So I spent a good half an hour SITTING PERFECTLY LEVEL on the dock, but it's not docking..........

....until I realized not only my ship got to be level, it ALSO need to FACE THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

Damn you, ED.

Damn you.

I LOVE the docking computer.. Not because I can't land correctly, but for one thing only. And that's the classical music queue. I love sitting back with my cup of coffee as the ship slowly makes its way into the station.

I have to admit that i never tried the dc yet, but i do have vr and that just makes docking so much fun.

But mind you, i forgot about the music from 84 elite so might try it just for that.

well that was one of the reasons, to be honest, the ONLY REASON, why i did buy that piece of crap. but as u can already see, im not satisfied. the music is FAR to quiet. the whole game is far to quiet btw. its the only game i have to double my amplifier while ALL - repeat - ALL OTHER GAMES got a better volume.

anyhow, the music of the LC is far too quiet. even the thrusters are louder. i do expect that background noise is BACKGROUND NOISE and that INDOOR MUSIC is LOUDER than OUTSIDE NOISE.

wake me up when frontier is finally fixing this. :)

Or look in the sounds menu, and discover options to help you out here.

I set mine to quiet mode to make it easier to hear the Wave Scanner.
