Latest updates :

Renamed the POI 'Tranquility' to 'Nereus' (Tranquility is now mentioned in the POI description).

Fixed - Silentium Shores POI error. Silentium Shores will reappear on the maps once Hyphielia QH-K c22-0 has been triangulated on EDSM.

Added - Distant Greens (added the one furthest from Sol)
Added - Smuggler's Rest
Added - Black Treasure

Updated - NGC 2286 description

@ Schepke re: EOK BLUAE AA-A H334 you need to provide screenshot proof of having visited it in game. Also regarding WRUPEOU AA-A H564 - you need to provide an actual system as the reference as EDSM does not recognize procedural nebula names. Please choose a system within the nebula itself as its reference.

I'd like to request an update to the description of the star cluster NGC 2286. As it currently stands, this star cluster is currently permit locked. However, the description of the cluster states: "The sector was rumored to contain systems that caused FSD lock-on failures, but a recent expedition in Nov. 3301 found no such stars."

This statement is no longer true. From what I understand, according to forum user marx in this thread, he traveled there in November of 2015 and found no permit locked systems, even though NGC 2286 was listed in the permit list file. He was able to explore NGC 2286. I assume that the quote from the galactic map on NGC 2286 is referring to marx's expedition.

In any case, an update between then and now fixed region permits, thus locking the NGC 2286 sector. I stopped by to gather proof of the inability to traverse through it.

I'm currently circling it up and down to get an idea of it's dimensions. The sector has a radius of about 375 lightyears from the center in all directions, and it appears every single system in the sector starts with the designation "NGC 2286 Sector"; no special named systems appear to exist inside.

I hope that you consider updating the description of the star cluster NGC 2286 to include this new information
Yeah, you're right: the region was locked back down in September, which I posted elsewhere but I forgot to do so here. My bad.
I think it would be nice if the description mentioned that the region was accessible for a good while, but no longer is.

I definitely agree, that's what I was going for when I said it'd be nice to have the new information included in the description, i.e., to not replace the previous one, but to add onto it.

Proposed Name: The Blue Louse
POI type: Planetary Nebula
Location: Dryio Flyuae hc-u e3-8680
Description: A vivid blue nebula surrounding a neutron star, approximately 1570 light years from Colonia and 20,660 light years from Sol, The Blue Louse is a small but spectacular sight. It is difficult to see until pilots are under 100 ly away; best views for those unwilling to jump into the neutron star system itself can be found from a K class star system a mere 1.7 ly away. This nebula, for its pleasing geometry and unusual hue as well as its proximity to Colonia, would make it worth a visit for any sightseer in the area.

Aaaaaarrrghhhhhh. It's fair, and it's all my fault. I've foolishly crossed the galaxy in season one without EDD installed, and after I hated myself for that. Now I have to pay the consequences!!!!!!!!!

Bah, a good excuse to recross the galaxy with fancy new FSD tech i guess.
Or maybe someone that would have my gratitude forever could pass by witth EDD installed...

Btw thank a lot Erimus to keep this thread alive and even have the time to correct other esplorers errors!
Virtual rep, my gauge for you is empty.

I propose the following:

Gottfried Koehler Depot

POI type: Jumponium-rich (Level 3)
System ref.: Outotch NX-R d5-0

Description: Koehler Depot is a star system located some 1,000 light years above the galactic plane and well above Barnard's Loop. It's value for Jumponium-based extreme range space travel was discovered in late 3302 during preparations for an expedition to Messier 67 (dubbed the Cancri Cluster). It's planetary bodies contain all necessary elements to make it a Level 3 Green system.

Fair warning: The system itself cannot be reached without prior use of Jumponium. It is located some 80 light years from the nearest Sol-bound jump-off.

Hello, Unfortunately, i don have direct screen of the Eok Bluae system ,so i make few now via ingame map and visited stars filter. There is also the ref. system for the ESDM - EOK BLUAE GX-K D8-1521.

And for the Wrupeou, it is first discovered by CMDR MARENGHI, (when i was there, it was undiscovere, so probably hi was on the way home). I have one screen from cockpit a another two from map.
Ref system is WRUPEOU NS-R D5-190.

Hello!

On my way to Inky Nebula I stumbled on a planetary nebula, has already been discovered (cmdr Tsmizzo) but doesn't seem to be an entry as a POI here. Happy to name it unless the original discoverer wishes to jump in and change it I'm more than happy. If is already added (I've searched POI's on system name and checked EDSM Co-Ordinates too) then forgive the duplication.

Name - Flos Nebula
Game Map Ref - Scheau Flyi GH-U e3-3617
Description - Planetary Nebula with a central Black Hole system, viewed from neighbouring systems the nebula displays a deep blue centre surrounded by a pink hue.

There is already a Bouquet nebula (it's one of the nebulae in The Festival Grounds, Ooscs Aob AA-A h3). It's getting harder to name newly-discovered objects, especially nebulae, as so many have been discovered now and there could well be huge numbers of planetary nebulae still waiting to be reported. If you have a floral name in mind then, since these tend to be popular, perhaps naming them after a specific flower would be the way to minimise the chances of duplication? Nice find!

Thanks for the heads up - should have checked that too. I actually detest flowers so have changed the name (and checked it doesn't exist).

Requesting updated description for Black Treasure / Traikoa FL-P E5-4. I didn't think you'd use my brief description D:

Suggested description (based on in-game nav beacon): "Black Treasure is located inside a stunning deep blue nebula. Commander MetroViper527 suggests this recent supernova as a celestial treasure to visit. The system contains a ~2.7 solar mass black hole that you can get to within about 40km of before overheating. The system is located just on the edge of the Sagittarius Spiral Arm, near the Omega Nebula, which is also a beautiful tourist destination".

--

Suggested description update for the Dragon Head's Nebula (Bleae Aescs ZE-A g4) entry: The current entry has the line "Red Giant - Bleae Aescs LT-L c10-13 6". This should more accurately say "Red-colored Gas Giant - Bleae Aescs LT-L c10-13 6". Secondly, the entry for 'Bleae Aescs Nebula' is a duplicate of the Dragon Head's Nebula entry.

Latest updates (until post #1038)

Added - The Blue Louse
Added - Gottfried Koehler Depot
Added - Smugglers Paradise Depot - this entry also contains the information on the two other green systems in the vicinity.
Added - Flos Nebula
Added - Twirling Death Stellar Remnant (post #1038 suggested by ibanix - let me know if you approve of the name)

Updated description of Black Treasure.
Updated description of Dragons Head's Nebula

Deleted dublicate description of Bleae Aescs Nebula.

Still awaiting information:

- The two nebulae submitted by Schepke: You will also need to provide a non-procedural name for these Nebulae. What would you like them to be called? :)

- The Jumponium systems submitted by Karaya1: Allthough these have been added, it would be helpful if you could you provide us with the information as to on which bodies in the system the various materials are to be found?

POI Name: Blacklight
POI Type: Planetary Features
Game map search ref.: Schaikaei XJ-H d10-1
Description: A ringed rocky world isn't that special on first glance. However, it resides only 119 Ls from its parent Neutron star. This means the world is lit up like a white t-shirt under a blacklight, making for a visually very striking approach. It gets even better when entering the rings and looking towards the star: the ejection conus is still cleary visible.
