I'd like to request an update to the description of the star cluster NGC 2286. As it currently stands, this star cluster is currently permit locked. However, the description of the cluster states: "The sector was rumored to contain systems that caused FSD lock-on failures, but a recent expedition in Nov. 3301 found no such stars."
This statement is no longer true. From what I understand, according to forum user marx in
this thread, he traveled there in November of 2015 and found no permit locked systems, even though NGC 2286 was listed in the permit list file. He was able to explore NGC 2286. I assume that the quote from the galactic map on NGC 2286 is referring to marx's expedition.
In any case, an update between then and now fixed region permits, thus locking the NGC 2286 sector. I stopped by to gather proof of the inability to traverse through it.
I'm currently circling it up and down to get an idea of it's dimensions. The sector has a radius of about 375 lightyears from the center in all directions, and it appears every single system in the sector starts with the designation "NGC 2286 Sector"; no special named systems appear to exist inside.
I hope that you consider updating the description of the star cluster NGC 2286 to include this new information
