I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

What is everyone else using ???

I am also using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (The force feedback one, but it's not plugged in). My other controller I've been using a Logitech G13, but since patch 1.04 I haven't been able to bind the thumb stick to anything for some reason so it's pretty annoying.

Saitek ST330.

OK it's ancient but it's all I had at the time of DL the game... having said that it's pretty slick and I'm coping so far with less buttons.

Will see how I enjoy the game before considering a better (HOTAS) stick.

X52, though though the controls go crazy every little while and I have to log out and wait for it to recover, great stick otherwise

I have the X52 Pro, I was having a similar issue but a fresh installation of the drivers fixed it for me. I got the latest from Mad Catz.

Same.

Cheap and does the job well.
Another one here, went out and got one after not getting on too well with mouse and keyboard (first Elite game I've gone for a joystick) and didn't want to spend a lot not knowing how I'd do. Wish I could somehow bodge the crummy little throttle into the keyboard though, then I'd be completely hands-on.

CH Fighterstick
CH Pro Throttle
CH Pro Rudder Pedals
CH Throttle Quadrant

The only thing I don't control entirely from my setup is the galaxy map and text chat for obvious reasons. The full CH setup makes flying just an absolute joy. Everything is easy to reach, easy to control, and the stick precision is just fantastic. I have no issues sniping targets with my Viper's fixed beam lasers.

I use the same, Extreme 3D Pro. Great joystick for a great price. Has plenty enough ways to program it, plus it has twist yaw which some of the high end sticks don't have. This thing is a beast and takes abuse all in stride. Mine plays and looks as good as the day I took it out of the box. For the price, it can't be beat.

Using a Logitec Attack 3, which had been dusting away in the corner for almost 14 years. No driver needed, just plug and play. I started with the 360 gamepad, but once i started using the Joystick, it just felt like playing a completely different game. Absolutely love the joystick, and it still works perfect apart from some buttons i'm not using.

The Balvenie single malt :D +
CH Fighterstick +
CH Pro Throttle +
CH Pro Rudder Pedals +
Logitech G19 +
TrackIr 5 Head tracking

I went with CH for quality and the very light touch it takes on the stick, I did not want to fight with the warthog. To prevent stick movement I bolted stick and throttle to ply wood that I sprayed mat black. I also add an anti slip mat and conduits under the plywood for the cables. I made a 40 degree incline stand for keyboard so its easy to type and see whilst flying.
