Not sure what you mean.

"The biggest ship" would suggest it's bigger than the anaconda.

"The biggest federation ship" would suggest it's bigger than... The drop ship. For now. I might be missing something but why does the newsletter make you think the Conda or t9 are Fed?

It might be smaller than the Conda. I'm hoping it is. We don't need anything bigger than that. Yet.

Well I didn't think the Conda and T9 are fed ships, that's why I asked here, wanted clarification. But looking at the pic, it seems to be bigger or at least the same size as the Anaconda. So the Dropship is the only playable fed ship? It's not even that big, smaller than a T7.

I'm also kinda wondering.. if it's bigger than an anaconda just what is it for? In PvE it's just massive over-kill. In PvP it'll be huge target for every eagle of viper. I can see where it'd be useful in wing related content, but then again who is going to pay for it's upkeep and what is there to do in it that cant be done in smaller ships?

Please release at same time as an imperial ship.... the feds don't like me much :(

As would I. The Imperial Courier was the biggest combat ship you could get in Elite 2 and 3. Everything bigger was basically a trader, which includes the constrictors. Python, Boa and Anaconda. You could use a Panther as barely mobile brick, but it handled like a T9 at 0 throttle. A perfect of example of just because it's the most expensive ship in the game and can mount the biggest weapons, didn't mean it was good to do so.

It's nice to see them flushing out actual combat ships while at the same time stressing the distinction between "multirole" and "dedicated" and that there is a performance cost for that flexibility. ;)

I'm curious as to what rank requirement it'll have. Should probably go and work on my Federation ranks since they're likely going to get harder. Baron in ED was ridicuously easy. In Elite 2, it took me months grinding hundreds of missions against the Federation.

Edit - Note to devs. Can we have the Imperial Trader pleeeeaase? I miss my better than a Python in every way Imperial trade ship. It's difficult to bring indentured servitude to the galaxy when you have to fly a rust bucket. You should be able to do so in elegance and style with a 350+ cargo hold at ludicrous speed. ;)

I may be wrong but it looks like smaller than the Anaconda but bigger than the Python.

It would probably be a combat dedicated vessel, with similar strength than the Conda but more agile and with little space for cargo.

It might be the same size. It's not likely we'll see a ship bigger than those two.

This is here-say and third hand knowledge but I saw a mod post once saying they thought they recall an old Dev post confirming the Conda is the biggest ship we'll see.

Don't take that to the bank. But it's difficult to work it out from a picture with no contextual reference so let's just say "it looks really big" :)

So it looks like the Anaconda has got some real competition. One things the confuses me, the newsletter say's it is the biggest player controlled 'Federations ship' are the Conda and T9 fed ships?

The only other Fed ship so far is the dropship, what the line means is, AFAIK, this will be the largest playable fed ship including any future ships. That thing looks vicious, btw. :D

Am looking forward to seeing the bridge on the ship. Tested the Anaconda's bridge in the DK2 thanks to the Beta test, fell in love and am considering selling my T9. A Core dynamics bridge will be slick.

I find the Anaconda to be pretty dull in the DK2, very plastic looking and stripped down (empty / hollow).

Anyone else see that face in the middle of the ship? It cannot be unseen

I really like the idea of larger player ships, i am not a dog fighter, but i like the idea of combat in a big well armed/armoured ship with auto turrets. So i hope this is larger than the conda.
But only way it could be, is it was not dockable. So would have to be a non-trade ship, with a landing bay for a shuttle ship or fighters. (and upgrades to be transportable.)
I doubt this will happen though.

If size is any indication, this could be much more expensive than an anaconda, which is already extremely hard to support with the current state of money making/trading. The way I see it this is an unachievable addition for casual players.
