It's definitely smaller than an Anaconda, at a guess, it's going to be a slightly more powerful python, gives up some internals for better weapons, shields, and manoeuvrability.

Not convinced it will be smaller than the Anaconda, given the concept art (though that's certainly tentative), which seems to imply a full bridge, rather than small cockpit, and statements regarding it's size (The Anaconda isn't a Federation ship, but it is lower hull mass than the heaviest Fed specific ship). I highly doubt it will be more maneuverable than the Python.

I'm expecting roughly Anaconda volume, but more hull mass.

I don't know if the Wikia site is "official" or canonical, but their page for the Farragut-class battle cruiser states:

The battle cruiser is capable of transporting and operating whole groups of Federal Corvettes, alongside housing multiple F63 Condor squadrons.

If the Corvette is much bigger than the Anaconda, you'd really have to ask where "whole groups" of Corvettes would fit! I'd guess the Corvette is about Conda sized, but wider. I think there was a screenshot of a Corvette on a large landing pad somewhere, that seemed to confirm that.

Edit - Found that screenshot, probably fake. So ignore that point. :)

I wouldn't expect it to be much bigger than the Anaconda, even if it is bigger in some dimension, and it's certainly going to fit on a large landing pad.

Still the Farragut-class is enormous by comparison, and anything that will fit on a large pad could probably be carried by one in large enough quantity to be considered a "group".

iirc FD said (somewhere) when it is released Corvette will be largest player ship in the game..

The said it would be the largest playable Federal ship in the game. The Anaconda, Type-9, and Clipper aren't Federation ships.

The largest undisputedly Federation playable ship in the game now is the Dropship. Which is relatively small in volume, but 580T hull mass.

THey said that it would be the largest federation ship.

There is still the Imperial Cutter to add to the list, which is supposed to be the imperial couterpart to the federation Corvette.

Well thats going to be a little boring tbh, not sure if they will give it a unique flight model, maybe a fast yaw but slow pitch as opposed to the anaconda if its going to be around the same scale.

The Cutter should be the empire equivalent for the fed-corvette but could be faster according to the below link:
http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Ships
"The Imperial Cutter is a lighter and faster Corvette-class ship"

this class ships will be expensive - A8 prismatic shields are 260M (after 15% discount)
so we could estimate total price to reach at least 1.5B for A rated...
as for rank required - my guess - Admiral

I theorized the other day that the delay with the corvette could well be because of the imbalance big ships pp have with SCBs, making them invincible, Anacondas and Pythons already rule the stars because of this, the corvette is bigger still and would basically have everyone owning one unless they balance the SCB issue that is breaking open play.
I'm hoping FD have a fix for this as the corvette will undoubtedly be coming in 1.5

This thread keeps making my heart jump whenever I see it! I can't help but think "A screen shot is here! Must see the new shiny!". This ship is going to be awesome, whatever it is, because it'll be a corvette, and corvettes are awesome.

Exactly, every time I see it gets refreshed I can't help but check for some actual update, for now, your avatar is a huge tease.
I am waiting to take an in game picture of one to put into my sig and replace my avatar with something else.

Hmm, I am kinda curious about its stats, especially its hardpoints.
We are talking about a ship larger than the Conda, I wonder if it'd have 2 huge hardpoints instead of 1...
