No Stock anywhere

I ordered one from Dabs on Friday for delivery today.

When I chased them for an update, they kindly informed me they don't have any!

I just hate it when companies say they have stock when really they don't :(

All the other recommended sites are also out of stock, apart from Amazon and I'm not going to pay over £200 for one.

Just curious why do you hate the X52 so much?
Sure the Warthog is a better HOTAS but it costs about 3.5X more as well
I don't think it is a fair comparison tbh

I think he was referring to the graphical representation of the stick in the in-game cockpit? ;) (Edit: I don't remember it since I never see it until now. No track IR and my rift won't be here until august... So I don't look around. ;))

There is some resemblance I suppose.

For most people that are not putting hundreds of hours a month into nothing but flight sim games I think Saitek or the cheaper Thrustmaster joysticks will work just fine.
I personally can not justify the cost of the Warthog, but that is just me.

Probably, just willing to prove that spending 3.5 times more money was a good deal.

Bought mine, x52 pro, probably about 6 or 7 years ago and it is still in perfect working condition(shhhh! don't tell anyone it has been in storage for over 3 years)

Ok, I worked out how to make the mouse button on the throttle(next to the mouse nipple) work ingame as joy16 and not as mouse button 1, if you don't install SST. Open the Saitek control panel on to the first tab(the button test page) and leave it open, now play ED :)

EDIT : nice work screwing the thread up by merging this one to here :(

Hi folks,

We've had to merge a few threads discussing joysticks etc into the main thread.

He/she has one and I was really just curious what the problem with it is, as in that price range there is really not much else that is "better"

I'm trying this in my ED profile, sounds similar to what you are proposing.
Code:
//CMS Hat (menu)
	MapKey(&Joystick,H4U,Menu_Up);
	MapKey(&Joystick,H4D,Menu_Down);
	MapKey(&Joystick,H4L,Menu_Left);
	MapKey(&Joystick,H4R,Menu_Right);
	MapKey(&Joystick,H4P,UIMenu_Next);

//Coolie Switch (panels)
	MapKey(&Throttle,CSU,UI_Focus);
	MapKey(&Throttle,CSD,Radar_Panel);
	MapKey(&Throttle,CSL,Target_Panel);
	MapKey(&Throttle,CSR,Systems_Panel);

Not sure how this is going to work out but I'm giving the China Hat a go for Yaw. I'm also trying Kungfu's option for switching axes with the paddle switch. One of the two should work well enough for the next couple of days. I'm guessing that when the premium beta is released I can just map Yaw to my pedals

Code:
//China Hat
	MapKey(&Throttle,CHF,Yaw_Right);
	MapKey(&Throttle,CHB,Yaw_Left);

Yeah, China hat on the stick is a bit of a reach for me so I have yaw on the little black thing below it. The Yaw seems very slow, maybe its just by design, I would have thought that mapping it to a digital input would make it 0% or 100%.

I think I'll have to invest in some proper pedals. Been using driving wheel pedals for my flying up until now (Mostly Rise of Flight). It's a bit weird with different tensions in the different pedals...

Good! I KNOW you'll love it.

There is another item I use with my Warthog - it's optional, but I love it:

Now we just need the devs to get rid of the silly saitek X52 knock off in the 'cockpit' and replace it with something that isn't a copy of a plastic bit of poo. ;)

Next on the list is two more monitors, and a MFG Crosswind, when there back in stock.

Its great having a very understanding wife. :D

Aleksej is right. This is what happens when you bind your controls with a conflict and it's not shown. The ship flies so weird and seems to wobble at times. Reset your default controls in the game and test your changes as you make them so you don't break it and waste time.

If you highlight the binding in the options screen does a tool tip not pop up telling you what the binding does and whether it's a digital or analogue input?

I have checked it and I have this tool tip in Alpha 4.03. However was it there in Alpha 1? We do not know the version of the game OP has.

Deep breath, dognosh, moderators are people too. Well, some of them. :D

I know mate, but every single conversation line has now been intermingled with every other one, killing them off !
Making its own joystick board or sub board would have been preferable, 2nd best option would have been to leave things alone and not merge any thread.

The action of merging was utterly stupid, not the person doing it :D

Or her being as game addicted (spending much more on games than me...time and money that is) ;)
The only disadvantage is maintaining two gaming rigs :D

The China hat I'm using for yaw is on the throttle not the stick. It's the red 3 position switch below the mike switch and the speed brake switch. I agree yaw seems very slow.

"If we could have you're attention for a moment. We would like everyone discussing Joysticks, HOTAS, or other controllers to please move out of the main conference room and into the broom closet at the end of the hall."

It is a bit irritating to have all controller conversations merged into a single thread. In fact I just posted on an other controller thread advising the OP that they could find their answer in this thread if they were willing to do some hunting around. Then it dawned on me that their thread would most likely be merged into this one as well. Oh well.

I agree that a separate Hardware sub forum would be a better alternative.

If any ones interested I started a thread in the Support Forum asking for the creation of a Hardware sub forum.
