I am using X55 Rhino with rudder pedals and have control over all 6DOF. This is more convenient than KB/M with which I have started playing ED.

Warthog + Throttle with Saitek Pedals.

(Flight Sim/Combat type games have always been a favourite.)

What can I say, it just works.

Some niggles mainly to do with Track IR and navigating the side panels meaning I've two 4 way switches dedicated to panel navigation where one should really suffice. Thrust on the "Side" Joystick 4 way switch with boost on press comes naturally.

I've had joysticks with the twist yaw before and to be honest just didn't get on with it - each to there own I suppose.

Thanks for the advice guys. I got it going with motionjoy, the sticks felt a little less stiff than x360 controller, but it just didn't feel right in my hand. I'm going to go back to the 360 controller for now. I think my problem is that I'm just not a very good shot.

On 2nd June I will have some kind of lottery too. I've ordered a used X-55 on amazon this morning. The product description lists some optical faults on the front and the back-side of the throttle box. I will give it a try. I'm using my Saitek Cyborg 3D for more than 10 years now :D.

Well apparently UPS lost my package so they are "investigating" what happened to it, aka which employee took it home.
So I won't have the X-55 for the premium Beta launch this Friday but hopefully by next week it will show up.

If they can not find it, the store has no stock so I think I might take a refund and go buy the CH Pro Throttle, and keep my current Logitech Joystick.

I am pretty disappointed to say the least.

help me deside, X55,X52 or warthog

I need a joystick for ED.

so would you recommend one, :D

Choices

1. Thrust master Warthog
2. X55 when I can find one.
3. X52 Pro.

I like the Warthog, but worried about configuration issues, I read the throttle does not work right ?

Cheer.

I did the same as you Gunman and read/watched as many reviews as I could before I plumped for the X52 Pro. It was a toss up between it and the X52, but it seemed the Pro was slightly better built amongst other things. Marginal I guess in all honesty, but when spending a lot of dosh I wanted to feel assured it would last. (I'm sure that there will be many X52 owners who will want to correct me on this point!! ;)).

Anyway, I put my order in last Saturday and hoping it will arrive before the 30th! :)

Maybe we can trade experience/setups??

Nope. Wrong.

Everything works perfectly. Have it myself. Best stick I've ever bought - and I've owned the cougar, three saiteks, the old f15 stick and everything going back to vid 20 days.

Works amazingly well, real switches are awesome.

Don't need to learn target software, but if you do it's very powerful.

Other than my obutto revolution, it's the best accessory I've bought, next to track ir.

One thing. Avoid ALL saitek rudders... All are utter garbage - plastic, no feel, utter ****e.

Get the MFG crosswind - wish I did instead do these saitek pro combat pedals I've got... Anyone wanna buy? Only 5 weeks old, boxed and as new.

I am using Saitek pro combat pedals and do not see any problems with them. Also they are not plastic.

X52: Throttle Bumps

Never liked the "Speedbumps" on the X52 throttle.

Followed the simple instructions here and now it's smooth the whole way from back to front :)

Fixated the removed part with some tape on the inside of the case....just if i want to put it back in later for some reason.

Edit:
there is one little thing the author of the guide did not tell: even with all srews removed, the case might not open on the front. there is a small plastic clip on the frontside (can be seen on picture 6). i used a sharp knife to get between the covers and push it in carefully.

Thrustmaster Warthog ordered.

And if it does not work, I will hunt the galaxy for you, :D

Now we just need the devs to get rid of the silly saitek X52 knock off in the 'cockpit' and replace it with something that isn't a copy of a plastic bit of poo. ;)
Just curious why do you hate the X52 so much?
Sure the Warthog is a better HOTAS but it costs about 3.5X more as well
I don't think it is a fair comparison tbh
For most people that are not putting hundreds of hours a month into nothing but flight sim games I think Saitek or the cheaper Thrustmaster joysticks will work just fine.
I personally can not justify the cost of the Warthog, but that is just me.
