How do I edit the poll (if I can)? Don't see it in the FAQ.
Just ordered that tonight as well. My other HOTAS didn't have enough buttons.![]()
It would be fantastic if the legal stuff went away
Sorry I don't know. Oh well, maybe next time eh?
Anyway I use a logitech F310 hand controller for most things, the keyboard for less used things (landing gear, initiate jump etc) and the mouse inside the station menus.
I don't understand, why do you think two joysticks are better? In my opinion, two joysticks are much better for Elite than a HOTAS, as I find the increased accuracy for lateral thrusters outperforms the HOTAS's accuracy on throttle. The Thrustmaster T16000M perfectly suits that, as it is both cheap and precise, plus it can be built to either be used in the right or left hand. It is also possible to use a HOTAS + a second stick, and switch your hand between them as need be. I used to combine the X52 and one T16000M that way, before I abandoned the throttle for its lack of use, especially in FAoff-mode. I simply mapped forward-thrust / backward-thrust to the left-hand stick, and it feels much better to control.
I have the F710 and could never get used to the sticks. Its basically a paperweight, less than 3 hours used. Works great but I prefer a real Stick.
Thanks for your photos, actually X55 is easy to get one in HK because it is new, but lack of choice due to low demand.X-55.
I have very small hands, but I got used to it.
pros: yaw on stick, lots of buttons on the throttle too.
Just amazing.
I did'nt believe I could enjoy it so much. It took more than a week actually to get used to it coming from mouse+keyboard, but It definitely deserved my efforts. I fly much better and lateral/vertical thrusting in combat adds a lot. Not possible that easy with mouse+keyboard.

Use a keyboard and mouse with VA and save yourself some cash. If you must have something in your hand, that's what the joystick you were born with is for.Go with CH products, they are of good long lasting quality, As opposed to an X52 pro, it only last me 2 months before completely wearing out - BRAND NEW
Completely wearing out...how? But you should have your product warrant right?Go with CH products, they are of good long lasting quality, As opposed to an X52 pro, it only last me 2 months before completely wearing out - BRAND NEW

I am new to ED...don't know much about VA, is it a official add-on or something? My first language is Cantonese, it's cool to control your ship with voice command but I am afraid it might not recognize my accent....
If you like flight sims then there's no reason not to get an MS FFB 2 used from ebay imho - they make for very good normal joysticks as well (and I've not seen any issues with Windows 8.1, both of mine worked fine - one's a silver trigger version and one's the red).
Fair enough.
I guess I got used to it from years of playing games on an XB360 (don't hate me!).![]()
Apart from the price. They regularly go for well over £100 which is a lot to pay for something that has been used for at least 10 years.
I'd love to have another FF2 but while my wife is very understanding I'd have trouble explaining to her why I was willing to pay that much for something that is probably almost worn out.

The MSFFB2 is one of the highest quality consumer joysticks ever made. If I had any complaint it would be the rubberized grip that disintegrates over time. But it can be disassembled and removed with a little work. It's also pretty easy to find one that is in new condition and still has the box, the key is patience. Joysticks are a bit weird.. they are purchased and get used until they die, or they get put on a shelf.
