So I tested PTU 2.6 - so many crashes, control binding issues, poor performance and so on, I gave up.
But from what I played
- loading times seems little faster.
- you can set up ship layout from the menu in arena commander before the match (very useful)
- massive improvement with first person controls and reducing camera bobbing - feels way better.
- Star Marine FPS mode - yes its there, it works, its the simple PvP FP experience and its somehow enjoyable. Clap clap RSI. I did not get motion sickens and I had fun. And good FPS too.
- flight model - I cant say really if there is a big difference, need more testing.
- horrendous performance on baby PU, 15 fps max with GTX 1060, 32 GB ram and i7.
- still tons of geometry problems in FPS in every mode.
- custom USER.CFG does not work unfortunately.

I will wait with judgement for official 2.6 release. Did not blow my mind tho.

Thx for the info mordin86....one question do you need to download again whole game or they finally made normal patching system?

Are you sure you didn't shopped the Star Citizen logo above the NoMan'Sky or Elite viewers? [rolleyes]

From what I've seen Star Citizen goes normaly with ~200+ viewers around the day, allways ahead of the other "fly your ship" space-games like Elite, Kerbal or NoManSky.

As for complaining about old bugs with ship's physics related that appear recurrently that's a simple case of "understanding game development" and accessing that some ship's are a priority (because Squadron42) while other's are not.

Star Citizen has around ~30+ ship's all with different physics grids that need their own special tweaking, that combined with the network problems (that are known and being worked on) makes it that you should expect those bugs has they are part of the process. Frustrating yes but understandable and not out of the ordinary.

Like I've said before, this is not Early Acess game were the priority is get every content ingame polished and in perfect gaming condition, it's an alpha build where a lot of the systems are still being assembled and ironed to work together. There's a reason why most games are getting bug fixed until the very last month of release and after release there's a Day 1 Patch to fix it even more lol :D

Oh and about the moneyz I think that besides the new players and old backers getting some more upgrades/ships there's a lot of people that subscribed just to get access to the 2.6 PTU. So by the end of the week the @ $139Millions mark should be a thing[money]

No Mans Sky is a game I can play, now. So is Elite. Star Citizen is a rubbish 'game' that is clearly full of crazy bugs that just can't seem to be fixed. And it looks so last year. What can you actually do? Salute? Get real.

The PTU is unfortunately another full download. Knowing how unreliable downloading speed is - if you dont have a few h to spare I would wait for normal branch to have 2.6. Still you will have to download the whole thing again I`m afraid.

I too know few ppl that had a opposite experience to mine - no answer to this really. The regular PU runs perfectly fine for me so... I dont know haha, lets wait for stable version.

Ha Ha ... Stable version, we can live in hope. Certainly not had one of them so far :p

Is this always gonna be a thing, every update takes forever to download :( Rsync has been around for decades..

But surely, you cannot expect someone to adopt such an obscure, inefficient, and proprietary bit of code as rsync! Be sensible!

e: also, unreliable and definitely not available on any useful platform!

Whats with repeatedly asking people to post questions on the RSI forum, are you trying to help CIG draw up it's extremely dodgy list of filthy internet dissenters and corporate espionage agents ?.

I was gonna rep you, cos you read my mind. Clever. But I can't. So I would like it to be known, here, on this here forum, that you sir deserve my respect. There is only so much a man, or woman, can take. I like this place. It's full of geeks that know far more than I will ever know about geekery. I learn stuff. I agree. I disagree. It's fun. Join us. Be nice.
