UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

It really seems the UA is drawing only some ships, we have yet to understand if it's the ship or its loadout. Could be Weapons as someone stated.

I'd like to know what happens to a totally unarmed Asp, in front of a free floater.
Could really be that the UA scans the ships for weapons first, then it draws them only if they are heavily armed. There's a threshold perhaps.
If it feels no threats, it just goes on with its job (scanning the nearest celestial object)

@Dommarra: was your T6 armed?

Well, after looking at the video, it's definitely a Itchynipple-like shenanigan.
Shieldless, running cold and low hull Adder, going for suicide on collision course while you're over 100m/s, leading to lethal answer from the station.

That guy and others are doing that on purpose, calling it "speed limit law enforcement".

But in the other four videos the UA is ALWAYS spelling Planets or Stations NAMES!
So no drawings at all.

What bothers me much is the UA not drawing the ship, when free floating...

So how do we get drawings of T6/7 if it is always System ?
Its beginning to look like a bug. No drawing found, or error in drawing meaning no morse is possible. Programmer codes "Use Default"

No no, we can have them being drawn!
I did it last night in my AWESOME test

The T7 drawing came out from the UA jettisoned by the DBX.

And now that this thing is happening I'm remembering things I have forgotten, about how I did to get all the drawings of the ships!
I used my two accounts to do it faster, so sometimes I've kept the UA in my DBX and jettisoned it for getting the drawing of a ship on my second account. DAMN. How could I know...

But I still think that armed ship or not, could be a thing...

And FD wonder why Mobius is popular ! I never play open, but to get "Cash for Crash" bumped by an NPC makes my pain worse ! :-(

Not in the videos, but I tried a scan outside Bond with a couple of Pulse Lasers fitted, I got short Honks

Yes, my T7 was armed as well yesterday, 4 pulses. But perhaps there is a threshold? I mean perhaps Class 1 is not seen as a threat?
It's unlikely, but still a possibility....

It's unlikely, but still a possibility....

Easy way to test upgrade the T7 and see if we can get the UA to treat it like everything else, or downgrade something else to class 1.

my T7 was already fully armed, and Class AAA, and it didn't trigger the drawing.

Woops, my bad, didn't paid enough attention : i thought it was a player that did this.
That is indeed an NPC, you can see it on the radar and you have the "highlight for target selection square" around his ship on the hud, prior to him going cold and hitting you.
Then you can see him disappear from the radar after the shock, same time as the Boom.

As i'm writing this i realise it's the first time i see an NPC going silent-running cold while entering a station...
Bug ? Intended NPC smuggle IA behavior ?

Could having hardpoints deployed or not be effecting the UAs behaviour? IE it can't draw the guns so it just ignores the ship?

There is a Python right in front of him.... maybe I took out an incoming Commando squad trying to take over our station !!!!

I don't think that the T6 or T7 are really relevant facts... Or the gear... I'm mean if it concerns the Thargoids, why would they focus on a specific ship or gear? I'll take that as a bug like so many there are in the game.

EDIT: Or the just didn't bother drawing the ships...

Indeed. Unarmed T6 with nothing special. e2: Nothing special about the behaviour otherwise, still points at the star and goes POP-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE when hit hard.

Sure it is relevant, nothing else has so far gotten the UA to morse out the body names since 1.4 hit.

Free to do it, but a ship did just spelled MEROPE in the meantime.
Typical non-scientific behavior: when people do not understand something, it's a bug (ghosts, UFOs, Poltergeist, and so on)

P.S. I don't mean it couldn't be a bug, but we have to do science first.
