Yes - upload them. I spent a few hours last night playing around with audio extracted from one of the recent videos. Trying different band pass filters to see (hear) what I could find. There are definitely a lot of noises overlaid to make the complete sound.

I see that someone has ripped all the UA audio.

With over 100 sound samples, I think it's pretty safe to assume the audio is significant!

Ok!

So, here are the audio samples from this post:

1. Ratking's sample
2. Zenith's sample
3. Here you've got the two synced (with a tiny offset to notice they are synced): Ratking & Zenith Merged

Audio samples from this post:

Finally, the first extra purr with Ratking's weird equivalent:

1. Zenith's purr
2. Ratking's equivalent
3. The two merged

I haven't checked if they contain a hidden message, just that if you remove the purr, they sound VERY similar.

Now I hope it's a bit less obscure, I'm so into it I should probably start making my own tinfoil hat.

PS: For the merged samples, left ear Ratking, right ear Zenith.

Is it too late to join the party? I'd like to train and be better at supporting you guys.

Congratulations Chaps on the bifecta

Interesting about the Artemis system in the news, it is the setting of the Elite Legacies book but no Thargoids in that

Wasn't the Cerberus plague called such in reference to its three headed phage like shape?
Kerberos the three headed dog of Hades

"While he denied that the team were calling the new disease the Cerberus Plague, one technician did confirm that the name was being used unofficially and came from an unusual three-pronged structure at the ‘head’ of the phage-like organism."

The "head" of a phage is the "bulb" at the top. Yes, the UA has trilaterally symmetrical pods, but those are the "tail" of a phage. For reference, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tevenphage.svg

I was out exploring near Azaleach ... I checked out a WSS and there was a wrecked Mk III cobra. While salvaging I found this:

View attachment 54823
Had to pry it out of the unfortunate pilots cold hands ...

Looks like my room in the house, with GalNet articles all over the walls, connected by yarn & pushpins. Amidst the crumpled tin foil hats, inane scribblings & the straitjacket I managed to wiggle my way out of...

Well I just made it to Timocani, how exactly do we go about searching for these UAs? Just drop into random USS/SSS/WSS?

If you see me in the area, please ignore my Denton Patreus allegiance (and the multiple tens of thousands of bounties I have). I'm taking a break from murdering Sirius Transport vessels to search for this thing.

Drop in, face away from the sun, and full throttle until your location marker says deep space. Then, just put zero throttle and check your navigation menu for SSS's. I'm not sure if USS's or WSS's drop. At least this is how I've been doing it anyway.

When the people inside the instance start talking about their systems degrading, you got it.

Put on a good song or movie and relax. It will take a while if it happens at all.

I agree. But if it is related than we basically have two theories: the UA causes plagues and the UA cures plagues...

1. UA causes plagues. We've tried selling a UA, we've had one expire about 12km from an outpost, and we've had one destroyed in a station. None of those cases have resulted in a plague. That really only leaves letting it expire naturally either in the station or immediately outside. It's possible one of those is the right trigger, but it seems awfully specific (if it were one of these then I would have expected the one destroyed in the station to work as well). So I'm not hopeful. I also wonder if FD would risk this storyline given the potential for UAs to be used as weapons in powerplay (or even just generally), particularly with the cargo duplication bug still in existence. Imagine if an unscrupulous bunch duplicated 50 UAs and then set off plagues in every system for a particular faction. How would the players in that faction react?

2. UA cures plagues. Haven't really tested this AFAIK. But I don't think it makes sense either from a lore or gameplay point of view. If there is a CG going on and the UA instantly cures the plague then what happens to the CG? Presumably it would just end and players would get whatever rewards had been earned so far. I'd expect that to annoy a lot of those players. I guess they could make the UA complete the CG to the top tier, but even that would be pretty unsatisfying, and amount to handing out free credits for UAs, in which case why didn't they make them much more valuable in the first place? As for the lore, why would they be simply transported in secret, rather than being used by the Federation to cure their own infected systems? Why would these magic cure-alls exist at all? I'm sure explanations could be invented but I suspect they'd be rather unsatisfying explanations. All that said, it's probably worth testing.

So, trying to catch up on the last 30 or so pages. As I can't play right now, and as I've not received the Timocani Tinfoil Hat yet, I have started to have visions..

The thing with UA curing plagues, and "If there is a CG going on and the UA instantly cures the plague then what happens to the CG? Presumably it would just end and players would get whatever rewards had been earned so far. I'd expect that to annoy a lot of those players.". Wasn't there some strange oddity with the CG, that it was impossible to do in the time alotted? If that was a bug I missed that. Could be UA related, but I just pull things out of ....

(*)The Thargoids are dying, so they've sent out the UAs with tharglets to find a new home.

Hopefully I'll be back in my ship in a day or so, all this vacation is eating away on me.

*Where are my pills?

It never corrodes Advanced Discovery Scanners (actually it might be DDS) but I just put that down to something being a bit wonky with the game engine, rather than it actually having any meaning.

Sorry, but it does corrode mine. It comes up as "Toxic Cargo Corrosion: D - Scanner".

Regarding the 'Biscuit Barrel Method,' what can I say but that it would seem to work a treat and all the better that there are people winging up in Timocani now. Great to see! Good luck!
90 minutes on Sunday. 25 minutes today. Winging it works, and is a superb opportunity to meet new faces and fly with people you've only really 'met' on the forums, as was the case for me.
Besides which, as only too few others know, taking on the UA convoy is Elite's rarest thrill. I've played this game for months and tonight I had the best fun I've had, even if only for scant minutes. (So looking forward to seeing what DelMonte/Outspan captured on film, though I know any appearance by myself will likely be as a swerving, clumsy goon.)

Massive canisters of luck to all of you hunting.
As action pay-offs go, there's nothing better in the game at the moment.

"But..?"

Quite sincerely, being a Bearer is not something I had any pressing desire to be, and I don't feel that having been Mr Barrel-Face lately in any way equates to any greater inherent right to hold onto it.
In point of fact, I have prior to this evening bowed out of three opportunities to witness a UA in the wild. It was partly a roleplay thing, but its also partly that there was to my mind no need to put those UAs to even the negligible risk of my lumbering ship's proximity.
All those walls of text were towards getting a job done co-operatively with Biscuit Barrel stuff, and all those participating - especially those of you who have not had so much as a sniff of a UA convoy - have excelled in that. (Yes, I'm very gratified that we've seen two successes, but it's hardly my success alone.)

Yet, it has worked out that I have Kitty sloshing her muck about all over my hold and I am intent upon cleaving to the initial concept behind Biscuit Barrel - seeing Kitty cark it for SCIENCE! (Note: I have no personal expectation of an expiration result; it's just about getting it off the table so, in that at least, it has my full support, whatever that may be worth academically!)

I shall not be leaving dock. I shall not be performing tests. I shall be doing nothing more in-game than those things wot can be done from the hangar.
Sincerely, none of this is to say, "Hurry up and put together a clear multi-test and team of observers for (dis)proving expiration theories and speculations!" There is no rush. I am content to sit tight and wait until people are confident of the plan.
All the better for that test regimen to incorporate as many factors (and cover as many details) as to permanently put paid to the various opportunities of watching Kitty go poof.
Indeed, all the better to trim the fat and move on. (And if an expiration result does occur, yes, I will deserve to eat those words.)

This all said, I shall certainly be available for any multi-UA tests prior to providing the cast of a UA snuff film in which I myself may very well need play no part after jettisoning and departing. It's a cooperatively gained resource for the Canonn, after all, and my availability is good, and I'm not so intent on keeping Kitty paranoiacally intact that I would ignore the call from other Bearers to meet up to pursue tests requested by you sciencers.

I duly respect that this may very well frustrate some of you, eager to see new tests done, or simply eager to see tests moved through at the increased rate another UA would otherwise afford us. But the frustration of many of us over a prolonged period, caused by the lack of opportunity to conduct planned (and, one respectfully recommends, practiced) "Die, you snotbucket! DIE GOOD!" tests rather trumps that, though I well know the shared eagerness to see simple non-destructive tests done if only to remove gnawing suspicions!

But, in a general sense I'm performing no tests.

The two on the left are actually the same. The bottom one is just very brightly lit.

I requested a shot like that :)

Sorry.

When I first looked at them for mayan fun - I noticed the two left ones were exactly the same except for difference at top ... was focusing on mayan fun at time and didnt pay too much attention - the fact is - they are different - not by much - but they are.

That give three sets of glyphs .... whether or not they translate into coordinates is a whole other matter :)

I just thought Id point that out to anyone who wants to look at it

2? Crikey, sounds like Timo is now the place to be. Nothing in Bast.

Can I ask how many people are in Timo?

Like maybe it's just a case of 8 people doing 3 hours being the same as 1 person doing 24 hours sort of thing?

Cmdr ecco offered 200m for UA.

Fly safe cmdrs.

Edit: over on reddit
If he wanted one so badly, he shouldn't have blown me up while I was carrying one, should he?
It's because of him that I joined Mobius and don't play Open any more.

More likely he wants to grief the player holding the UA.
