Updated Permit List

With the exception of homeworld permits (sol, Achenar) and a few cases where there are rares, why do people want all these permits? I don't see anything in the OP that would drive me to want a permit to 90% of these systems.

Can some of you say why you're trying to get all these permits? Just curious.

For me its just one of those gaming habits if I come across a locked system in my mind there must be something cool in there. The same reason I'm stiil hunting question marks in the witcher 3 even though I finished the campaign ages ago...oh god I have ocd don't I??☺

FEDERATION PERMITS

BETA HYDRI
Rank: Petty Officer
Benefits: Edmondson High Station has 10% discount on eagle. Black Mausoleum beautiful palm tree station is also present.

PLX 695
Rank: Petty Officer

VEGA
Rank: Ensign
Benefits: Access to rare good (Vegan Slimeweed). Fort Dixon also reportedly has a palm tree station.

Hello, these 3 permits need edited.

beta hydri and vega system passes are granted when you are a chief petty officer not petty officer.
plx 695 pass is not given at petty officer or chief petty officer. Maybe its given at a higher rank now?

thanks,
Kione

HIP 54530 is not uninhabited. However I haven't found where the permit can be earned. I've checked all the inhabited systems near it, bought exploration and trade data. It certainly trades with a number of nearby systems, but there seems to be no presence outside of HIP 54530.

How far away did you check?

From the 1.3.07 patch notes:
"Increased radius of the sphere of systems used to generate missions from 10ly to 15ly, allowing all permit systems to be within range of at least one system that can give the permit"

I'll start looking around the other inhabited permit systems, maybe I'll find something. (Mingfu, 4 Sextantis, CD-44 1695)

Good Afternoon,

After a week or so of not knowing what to do next in Elite I thought I'd work towards getting a few Permits. I'm currently at Midshipman rank with the Feds and thought I'd start off working towards Petty Officer.

The question I have is, once I reach the dizzy heights of Petty Officer where will the missions/invitations for the Fed Permits appear, or will these be in the surrounding systems?

Thanks & Regards

I've checked around Mingfu and CD-44 1695, could not find a place to get their permits.
These listed systems do not have any factions from the permit systems.

Here is a though. How about showing the number of known permits on the OP. I know I have 25 and I think that is the current cap. It is a pity the permits aren't listed in alphabetical order to make it easier to look them up.

Something else that would be nice for FD to do. Have a galactic view option to see systems our individual permits apply to since anyone who would receive a permit should be told where it is valid...

WRT Isinor, it's worth pointing out this thread

I've sent Edward Lewis a private message on this, as it was his patch notes for 1.2 (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=123776) that indicated that Isinor, Witch's Reach, and LFT 509 had valuable salvage conveys. I think we should attempt to draw more attention to this issue, as it wouldn't be the first time that one developer thought something was working as intended when it really wasn't (variant weapons comes to mind, for a long time FD devs believed they were just hard to find, but instead another developer disabled them and the rest of the team wasn't aware).

WRT Isinor, it's worth pointing out this thread

Very interesting. We definitely need confirmation on this assessment, because if that's true then I shouldn't have been able to get this permit. Not that I mind of course, although literally the only "content" is the salvage convoy, and the thing it drops (while valuable) is too low in count to be made "worth it" in credit terms. And there's no non-financial reason to get it either. So its not like I have some unfair access to content that I shouldn't have (yet :p).

I'm wondering if this system was only meant to be accessible once the planetary landings expansion allows you to go to Earthlikes and such. I mean there's literally no stations, so I'd think the only actual content (other than the salvage convoy) is on the planet itself.

Either way, I'd certainly encourage you all to keep pressing the issue with Edward Lewis for official confirmation of this thread reply.

EDIT: Updated the OP to reflect this information. Until further word, I would focus your efforts on the other permits. Really unfortunate this system has been locked when it didn't used to be, not that there was much content to look at.

Sent the following message to Edward Lewis:

"Good day Edward Lewis!

I currently maintain one of the community resources for permit systems (located here https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=122593) and was wondering if you can officially confirm the comments of one of your team members regarding the Isinor permit (made in this thread here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=176824&p=2722561).

If the permit to Isinor was never intended to be obtained yet, then why did you put salvage convoys in systems that can't be reached by players? And what are your plans for Isinor specifically? Can you release any juicy details?

Either way, please make a comment on my thread here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=122593 whenever you have the time to do so. There are many people who put time into trying to get this permit as a result of my thread, only to find out it was not obtainable yet.

Again, your response will determine what category I put Isinor on my thread, so that I can either steer people toward or away from obtaining this particular permit.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear back from you soon. :)

Regards,

CMDR Swift Arrow"

An update for systems that do work...
For Tiliala, you can add Bedaho (station controlled by conservatives of Tiliala)

For LTT 198, you can add Arngi (station controlled by LTT 198 order), and update Theta Sculptoris (station controlled by LTT 198 order)

Swift Arrow, this is one of those posts I come back to now and again, so thanks very much for maintaining it!

I still have my permit to Isinor too, but haven't tested whether it still works, will try tomorrow.

Cheers for all your hard work,

Zeb
Existing Isinor Permits still work. The Convoy is still present. Still no stations to effect regime change.
