Updated Permit List

Returning from the other side of the galaxy, I've found a huge restricted area. This area it's about 1500Ly diameter (close to three times bigger than the human bubble) that spans multiple sectors. All the systems in this area are marked as "Requires unknown permit"

The area is around (-600, 0 , 54000)

Is it these sectors on the other side of the galaxy?

Meh, nothing of interest in Phekda anyway. No RES, markets are terrible and so is outfitting. The only thing nice about it is the earthlikes/water worlds. Will be a nice place to visit in a few years once we have PL on earthlikes.

I have seen Phekda Society missions around the place near Alioth though. Someone mentioned Brizo, that was one location.

Anyway, i see there is a ticket open, so let's hope FD fixes this. I'm sure like others here, some of us ultimately want to collect all permits if only for completion. ;)
There are plenty of Phekda society missions on offer (well "plenty" isn't quite accurate with the current state of the bulletin board), Megrez was the best.
.
Unfortunately, there is no real reason to get any permits - except Terra Matter and Jotun. But I've run out of rare goods to "collect", so it's one more thing to do. And, unlike rare goods, there is a record of the achievement with permits.

You don't need missions to get the permits. Last time I returned with a load of exploration data I got several permits by selling the data at stations controlled by the 'permit giving' faction. It is around 5 million to get allied with a faction, and then you get the permit mission. (Well - this was just before christmas)

This is how I did it. A nice side benefit to 9 months of exploration, I got all the achievable permits.

Z...

I went exploring for a few days to get the 4.5 million worth. So, if it's purely about the permit, timewise it's probably more efficient to do missions.
Though, if I'd cherry picked just the good stuff when exploring it may have been a more efficient way.
Getting permits via missions usually helps gain some % towards ranks as well.
.
I'm currently trying to get the Crom permit via missions, but the next one I do, I'll probably go exploring first.
.
One thing that I will check out while near Crom, is there was a Dev post recently that suggested that Crom Silver Boys control 8 or more systems. If that is the case, there will be some extra systems available to gain rep. I'll post any if I find them.

It seems that Europa, Ganymede and Callisto are permit locked for the time being - it looks like you can land on them in the system map however on attempting a landing the DRP indicator is red and attempting to reach low altitude results in a supercruise "Dropping - Too Close" event and on continuing in normal flight the message "a permit is require to land here" is displayed. Something to add to the list!

SIRIUS
Faction: Sirius Corp
Rep Systems: Avik, Procyon, Luyten's Star, Te Kaha*, HIP 8396*, Takurua*, Almagest*, Robigo*, Ceos* and Sothis* (recently expanded, all systems after Luyten's Star are colonies of Sirius.)
Benefits: Sirius itself has some decent outfitting, but so far no major benefits. This may change in 1.3 however.
Note: Recommended systems has a station controlled by Sirius Corp. However, the permit can only be obtained from Procyon, Luyten's Star and Avik.
Sirius Corp is in control of Avik, they control the only outpost in that system.

Changes made! Thanks guys!

Also, a bit of news, I will be going to Pax South, so hopefully I can get some actual face time with the devs and ask a few questions regarding what's coming to Isinor, Phekda and some of the other unobtainable permits! :D

Enjoy your stay to Pax South

:)

Have fun there! Hope you get some answers. ;)
I was able to get the Isinor permit before it was "locked". Phekda is still on my list, but I'll aim for other permits before this one.

Is Phekda locked?

I got it just before christmas when I used my exploration data to get a few permits.....

I got the Isinor permit ages ago, before it got locked - my starting station was just next door so unknown to me at the time I was getting allied to the permit giving faction whilst simply doing missions for the money :)

Some had the issue that Phekda Society did not grant the permit even though one became allied withe them. So either some RNG trouble, a bug or the permit removed by FD.
See page 27 of this thread for some opinions.

for TILIALA Faction: Conservatives of Tiliala
Rep Systems: Varpet is now controlled by minor faction called "the black fleet"

for Faction: Hodack Prison Colony
Solati is no controled by "Solati galactic services"

I got allied with the Phekda society last week, then spent a night going to every system with the society and then mode switching to try and get the permit. No joy. I have raised a bug report, so hopefully I'll get a response sometime soon.
.
I got Alioth and Sirius permits just through the Kaushpoos, Robigo and HIP 8396 CGs. Didn't know until I was waiting for a rare goods spawn in Ethgreze and got the permit invite.

If the controlling system factions are the only ones that give out permits, it seems those currently in control - for Phekda it's these "Ancients of Mumu" (LOL) and for Isinor it's some group called "Isinor Gold Natural Ltd" - can't yet do that as they don't operate outside those systems.

I wonder if anybody currently with access to those systems can encourage those particular factions to undergo Expansion into a neighbouring system?
