VR support 'not at launch' for Odyssey

I believe that most companies are constantly looking for ways to increase their sales and market share.
Frontier seems to be doing to opposite it the last few years.

Just a announcement of VR support in the future would be a huge show of confidence for the future of Elite.

Years?
Probably not.
FD put a lot of effort into appeasing the community over FC's. It's not always about money.
You're looking for a guarantee without considering there may be pitfalls in any developement process.
If they guarantee and fail, they will be slaughtered for it. Other games did that and it didn't exactly help their reputations much.
FD just seem to be trying to be cautious, which is sensible..

Agreed an announcement they were woring on it would go a long way toward easing the tensions on this.

there are as many lists as there are VR gaming sites so personally I don't put much stock in "best" lists any more......
also out of principle I kind of no longer put elite in that category.

but it is in this one here
Cool list

Though I would replace Dirt Rally 2.0 with the original DR. I can't get over the auto exposure! Turn your head, look up or down and the screen briefly dims.

I hate that effect! It's OK sparingly, like when you leave the tutorial cave system in Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout3 etc. but when it is all the time - ugh! My eyes do a perfectly good job adjusting by themselves thank-you-very-much! It's like forcing a squirrel to use a ladder to climb trees

I have some from that list, and wish that some others might come to PC at some point.
Good find!

i have so many vr games but just no time to play them - and strapping a big box to my face in 30 degree heat is not what i fancy right now.... but yeah there are some corkers on there no doubt. i do want to try astrobot at some point. unless it is emulated, i will be relying on someone with psvr however as whilst i have a ps4pro it never gets used (under 30 hrs i bet since i bought it just after launch) so not buying psvr!.
and my biggest claim to shame....................... i have still not bought half life Alyx yet. too many people tell me it will make all my other 1st person vr games obsolete. well i dont want to do that until i have played them at least 1st.

Go and stand in the corner, and don't come back out until I tell you so! 😤

Joking aside, Alyx is a masterpiece in design and optimisation, it look just as good on my laptop as it does on the main PC, if you enjoyed Half-Life back in the day, I don't think Alyx will dissappoint in any way, apart from being over well before you are ready to stop, that is. (Around 18 hours of play, if one is not rushing)

It has the same impact as Lone Echo did, for me, good storyline, well drawn and gets the player 'involved' immediately. Worth getting, when you are ready.

Being on any list that calls your game the best VR game of all time is worth considering FD.

Teh F? I'm VR ignorant but is kinda my impression that the chunk of VR is just janky experimentation on how to control games with new VR regime and Alyx just captures that spark in a bottle. Not saying is like invention of mouse - but is the same category.
I accept HLA is polished and a must try title.... but the majority of the vr I have isn't janky experimentation. we passed that point years ago. I will try it but it's just a case of not enough hrs in the day. it's a shame. I have covid at the moment so would be the perfect time to check some stuff out...... but I can't even gather the energy to play flat screen games so not gonna don the vr goggles. (am binge watching Halo and star wars clone wars instead)
