Walkthrough: Guardian Module Blueprints

Thanks for the great guide!

As above it appears you do not need to do the towers in order to get the blue print, I forgot to do column #5 after being attacked and did it last, no problem getting the data.

I'd also emphasise that if you want sentinel parts you need to get the as you go as they will have disappeared if you wait til the end.

Thanks to OP and the many suggestions from others, in the process of fine tuning my DBX for this first Guardian foray, this will make it so much easier I am sure.

Thanks to the OP's guide I was able to do the Guardian FSD dance. After several tries. Even with the excellent guide I found it very hard to complete at least partly becuase it's so dark!
Thanks OP, def couldn't havce done it w/o you.

Thank you for your guide! I tried to follow it, and was doing fine except when I tried to get up to the machine there were steps in the way and for some reason my SRV wouldn't use its jump jets, so I couldn't get anywhere near the magic X. I did find some pattern data and Ancient Civ data -- and I set off a load of Sentinels as I explored, so I wonder if they're just triggered by proximity at any time and not after the timed sequence has started.

I'm curious... should there be a ramp, or has there always been steps? And I've no idea why my SRV jets stopped working... I'd had some run-ins with Sentinels, but I didn't think the jets were damaged and I can't find any listing on the Modules page to tell. :-/

It's possible your thrusters didn't work if you didn't have pips to ENG, and that distributor was depleted.

From memory, I think you can get up to the drop point from the side (if you are looking forward at the drop point, then I went up the right side) without having to jump. You may end up slightly behind it, but once you are on the platform it's easy enough to maneuver and get in position. It's not a smooth ramp, but from what I remember the SRV handles it fairly easily.

facepaws Yup. No power to ENG as I'd diverted it all to SYS and WEP. You know how you do dumb things because you're so focused on another thing...? Gah! Thank you for the solution! :)

Note: I've written a guide for Guardian Vessel (Fighter) Blueprints here; Guardian Weapon blueprints here.

Greetings, Commander!

Let's talk about the Guardian Module Blueprints (now called Guardian Module Blueprint Segments). Perhaps you're interested in the Guardian FSD booster for extending the jump range of your ship? Or perhaps the Guardian Shield Reinforcement to help turn that hull tank into a shield tank? Maybe you're interested in the of-dubious-usefulness Guardian Hybrid Power Distributor? This guide should help you comfortably get through this.

First off, let's discuss expectations. You'll be jumping about 800ly out of the bubble to a Guardian site in Synuefe NL-N C23-4 and landing on Planet B3. There's a "Guardian Structure" Nav Marker that you can spot from 1000 ls away to guide you in. You'll land, and then you'll navigate the site in your SRV, and, while fighting roughly twelve guardian sentinels (not all at the same time!), you'll "charge" six pylons, which will then allow you to drop an Ancient Relic, which are available at the site, into a hole and thereby release the Glowing Golf Ball Of Module-ness, which you can scan for the reward of one blueprint. All the Guardian modules require one blueprint each, so to unlock all six of them, you'll need to perform this task six times, logging out and logging in before each run. You'll also need to collect other necessary materials during all of this!

Ok you gave the system and planet locations for 3 of the six Module Blueprint Fragments where do I find the other 3 fragments for
Guardian Module Reinforcement
Guardian Hull Reinforcement
Guardian Power Plant

Thanks

Module Blueprints can be used to unlock any Guardian Module, so one site would be enough. (Same goes for any Weapon or Vessel site).

This, exactly, quite. Dark, hard to see anything and easy to get lost/ turned around. I did that circuit at least half a dozen times before I got it right. I swore I’d never go back, but I wish I had the guardian weapons for fighting Thargoids..

Hi Commanders,

I tried following the guide, and traveled to several systems that should have hosted Guardian Structures, and I saw none.

This was right after yesterday's patch went live with the Carriers update. I don't know if the guardian stuff got changed with the update, but I can't find the anything on my nav panel when within 1.000 LS of the planet/moon.

Can anyone confirm guardian stuff is still available? I feel like I'm missing something huge and obvious and I want to make sure that's the case before seeking answers elsewhere :)

Thanks,
CMDR Erseil

Everything still works perfectly for me, even in 2020

Thanks for this, Ylox. I ended up trying other systems and found the Guardian Structures. I have to wonder if I weren't abusing the filters on the nav panel for some odd reason, and then left it that way, forgetting to clear the filters.

Henweigh, I got it done and great guide. Thanks commanders.

Right after the FC update there was a bug causing many sites to disappear; even Dav's Hope was gone. One of the patches fixed this.

Thank you for this great guide!

It should be in BIG RED LETTERS that you need to use your DATA SCANNER, not your composition scanner... Of course I learned the hard way, but that was before I have found your guide...

After several visits with other commanders to help me, I finally took my Colonia commander, Flossy2, here to try for the blueprint. Following your guide (plus the experience gained on previous occasions) I felt I now had the confidence to try and do it all myself. I'm always reluctant to shoot the sentinels as it means an increase in combat rank, but as I was only at 8% Harmless to start with I felt I had plenty of leeway. I spent yesterday evening collecting the materials I needed before attempting the final part of activating the pylons tonight. Usually I tend to get lost, but using the map I was able to identify the pylons first and successfully scanned the orb! Thanks to you as well as those who have helped me with other commanders previously! :D
