Walkthrough: Guardian Module Blueprints

Thank you for this excellent guide. I used it to complete two runs for Module Blueprints.

I know most people are aware but until you either find out for yourself or read it somewhere, Driving Assist Off is a must. That pony is one hell of a ride with Drive Assist on but no good in the confined spaces of the ruins.

I am halfway through the grind and almost finishing up the guardian mission before I head back to the bubble. I have to say this is an excellent Guardian guide - I have to say your guides are even better than some of those videos out there on Youtube.

For new commanders who are attempting this mysterious journey here are some quick pointers to take note of (based on my experience).

  1. Equip yourself with the Diamondback Explorer and fit in the biggest and best FSD you can (5A or engineered) because its gonna be a long trip. Having a diamondback explorer allows you to park your ship closer to the site and provide point defense support (Advice #3 and #7 below).
  2. Get a Fuel Scoop (5A if you can as its a long journey) and SRV
  3. GET a couple of POINT DEFENSES in your utility slots- I can't stress how helpful this was in taking care of the sentinels. It's like your insurance policy. See advice #7 to learn where to park your ship.
  4. Get some material for synthesis - I found myself repairing my SRV twice and reloading my SRV ammo (you don't need premium grade - just the basics will do which can be easily found if you do laser mining or ). FYI - Once your SRV hull integrity reaches 50%, it's a good time to repair your SRV - Make sure you know how to use synthesis - it's not hard :)
  5. Go to Synuefe NL-N C23-4 Planet B3. Not only is it <3K LS from the arrival star, but it also has a 0.3G which makes your SRV driving experience MUCH better especially if you are not used to super low gravity driving (the first Guardian site I visited had very low G (0.15) and it was quite a challenge driving around the surface). Plus driving in these sites can be quite a challenge due to the uneven terrain! Another good point about this site is that its brightly lighted (it's only <2k LS from a red dwarf sun so you get some decent light on the location!
  6. Get used to the map. I found it helpful to drive around the site and bring up the pylons (don't charge them just yet though!) If it helps, print out the map in the OP's post and familiarise yourself with the area.
  7. Park your ship at the suggested site in the OP's post. It's at the southeast corner of the guardian map.
  8. If you follow advice #7 above, then quickly try to bring up pylon # 5
  9. Most pylons that you bring up will spawn a drone/sentinel. Don't be afraid of them! They will attack you but your SRV is far superior as your SRV will have shields to protect you. The drones DONT have shields so they can be killed quickly
  10. I found it helpful to position my SRV in an "open space" area while killing the drones. Once I am positioned it properly, I can switch over to my turret and just start rotating it around to kill the drones.
  11. You will need to jump in your SRV to move up to the altar/temple where the globe/orb is at. Learn how to jump on your SRV. It's very different from using your ship's thrusters. I had to practice this a few times. The higher G (advice #5 above) on the planet helped made it easier to make those jumps. There are some guides to do this but basically it's about gaining some speed and then firing your vertical thrusters to create those "forward jump" effects. Yeah you need some physics for this
  12. Watch some youtube videos before you head out - I recommend this one (it's a bit long but at least its detailed, the others abit too short!) - the only caution i have is the pilot in this video didn't park near the guardian site (advice #7) which caused him to be more exposed to missiles)
  13. Pylons are timed once you charge them, don't be afraid of the timer and let it stress you out. I found doing advice #6 and practicing the jumps (#11) helped me be more confident in the jumps
  14. Follow the recommended sequence of charging up the pylons in the OP's post (1-6) in that order. I didnt follow this order and ended having to deal with sentinels who were lurking behind the structures which was not only a pain but time-consuming and unnecessary
Hope this helps!

You don't need a DBX,I've done all modules in there landing almost into the site (both sides have landing spots) with nearly every Madium ship I have, one Point Defence is more than enough to cover all the site, the charging pylon sequence matters little honestly, but if you take the altar one first then the second halfway the central aisle, then the last two on the back and last the two external middle ones, you speed it up,sentinels are a joke they die in a few seconds.

I've tried to activate the Pylons several times in different orders (also the one mentioned here). Despite activating all six, the timer still continued to ran and finally ran out.

I did it as the Guardian site was covered in night time (in contrast to the tutorials I found) and despite shooting at the pylons for long time in some trials, they never spawned a beam of light into the sky. However, a sound effect was noticeable and they were glowing continuously, so I suppose the activation worked.

Could it be that the Pylons only work during daytime?

No,
daytime was no factor in the past. Maybe a BUG.
Name the exact system/planet you are. Did you try in HORIZONS or ODYSSEY. If it doesn't work in EDO try in HOR, visa versa.
And REPORT the problem in the ISSUE TRACKER if it persist's.

I did those some time ago in Ody, worked as intendet. The beam of light shot to the sky once I shot the center/eye for some time with my SRV. The timer increased with each activated pylon.
Did you drop the guardian artefact relic on the X once all 6 pylons were activated?

It is the same system as mentioned in the start post in this thread. Did it with Odyssey, didn't tried with Horizons yet.

Hm, for me the timer started after activating the first pylon (didn't matter which one), but the time never increased when activating any other pylon. So I had 5min in total to activate all (which was barely enough).
Also just to be sure, I shot for a long time at them, even after their distinctive sound and when they were glowing continuously.

Yes, I jettisoned the relic, however the drop place was not lit (in contrast what the tutorials say) and the timer still ran. To my understanding, the timer should vanish after activating the sixth pylon.

5 minutes is too long. I can't remember the exact times, but something like 2 minutes each. Each time you charge one, the total time goes up by 2 minutes, but it's going down all the time. On a good run, you have about 5 minutes left when you reach the last one because 5 pylons give 10 minutes and it takes about 5 minutes to charge them all.

If you saw 5 mins on the timer, you must have charged at least 3 pylons!

It would be best if you could record a video of your attempt and post it here...

Thanks for all your replies!

It worked now, most of the time ...
Maybe a BUG.
... yes it might be a bug that occurs occasionally. When it doesn't work, the Pylon gets initialized (5min timer appears), but never activated, so it remains in that stage.

But now I see it working most of the time (5 out of 6 attempts), i.e. I could activate the Pylon and everything worked as expected:

The one time it didn't work, I could wait until the 5min timer was over and then do it again and the Pylon could be activated then.

daytime was no factor in the past
Yeah, likely it still isn't. Now I tried it during sunset/daytime and though it worked most of the time, it also didn't one time. During nighttime it didn't work for me (did 5 attempts via relog or waiting until the timer was over), though this might be just coincidence.

If you saw 5 mins on the timer, you must have charged at least 3 pylons!
5 minutes is the initial time when shooting the first Pylon, before it gets activated. After activation, the 2 minutes are added, so the first Pylon gives 7min in total if everything works.

Fdev did a excellent job adding content that continues the Guardian story line and fun to do.
I often go here to change it up a little.

When it first came out it was a surprise and much appreciated new content.

way to go Fdev.
