Me Too
I can’t stop. I’m too addicted.
First, I never said I don't care.
Second, I never grind, I just play the game.
Third, why do you think missions need to pay 300 million credits per hour?
No-one is asking for that to be in game all the time though.
Gold rushes by their very nature are extremely short-lived, volatile things and reward those who get there early and have a keen eye for market conditions. They're exciting and give players a renewed sense of purpose when they pop up. Players who might have drifted off to another game or have said 'ah **** this' to the paltry sums of money given by normal missions or the mindless grind of collecting engineering mats. They have a reason to come back. And the existing players, from the Sidewinder greenhorn to someone like me with fleets of Cutters and Corvettes and 1.5k hours will flock to them, because they're fun and negate at least some of the horrendous grind for a while at least.
And then the kicker, I'd love to see the sales figures from the store for Anaconda/Cutter/Corvette paints and ship kits around and just after each goldrush. I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty confident Fdev will be seeing an uptick in revenue from these in-game goldrushes. They will factor these metrics into their development plans moving forward, that's for sure.
I have no trouble with a short-lived Gold Rush, that may be last a couple days or so every few months. I do not fault anyone that took advantage of this latest Gold Rush. What I am saying is that it should be a rare thing. So many people are shouting that it should be permanent and Frontier did a terrible thing by nerfing it. It absolutely should not be a permanent fixture in the game, otherwise that would be detrimental. Frontier was 100% correct to take Swift action.
I can't see anyone anywhere asking for the 100m+/h things to be permanent. If you could point me to where people have explicitly said this, and the general consensus amongst the playerbase is that they want goldrushes to be a permanent feature, then I'll happily retract my statement.
Maybe FD should leave a fast progress system in the game. Just for the whiners. That way they achieve triple elite, King and Admiral faster. Get their Cutter A-rated and quickly leave the game because of boredom. That way these threads hopefully end soon ...
Yes, that was sarcasm.

Here's one. There are a ton of them on Reddit too. I can provide more links if you like.

Play X rebirth VR, you can earn everything faster and don't need to request ED to change what they want.
That's not explicity asking for it to be permanent though. That's someone frustrated they didn't get there early enough to make the most of the goldrush.
I don't think anyone reasonably thinks that 100/200/300m credits per hour should be a permanent fixture.

Lol, keen eye for market conditions? You mean follow the simple instructions in the reddit post? There is no skill, no luck, no goldrush. Its an exploit. Just be honest about it man, no need to sugarcoat it.
As for the paltry sum normal missions pay: I earn my total insurance after three years and 2000+ hours in a single session...
I believe you called the people who participated in it 'cheaters' in another thread. So yeah, that's all I need to know about your character if you're passive-aggressively having a pop at mine. I won't be so subtle about it. I call a **** a ****.
Can I have your stuff?
PS
I have a wife, a 10 months old daughter, a job and I am currently building a house. I don't have much time playing ED but when I have the time I don't feel like progression is too slow. Since you are unable to voice your opinion without realising that it's just an opinion I suggest that you and the rest of the vocal minority move on to a game that fulfills your needs for instant gratification.
