Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

OK, transfer moves the cargo without a transaction. I think I've worked that out. Apologies.
And as for the last point - it's all your money anyways. If you want to transfer funds to or from your carrier, there's a simpler way. That point is useful, though, if you want to transfer money through another CMDRs carrier. Like I did yesterday when sending operational funds from my explorer account to my carrier.

Loaded her up with ~8KT of Tritium and thinking of heading off to Eta Carinae.
Obvs.. such a noob at this sort of thing I may not make it back!
So exploration carrier then. Basically the only number you need to remember to be able to be back is 135 t (or round it to 140), which is amount consumed per 500 ly jump by a full carrier. Yours going to be closer to full most of the time, as you'll haul a lot of tritium. Or, you can just remember that a full tank lets you make at least 3500 ly. Count distance, count tanks, then divide by 2 to have fuel on the way back. That's absolutely safe with a very high margin as every next jump will be a bit cheaper as you eat on your fuel until you reach a bit below 70 t. Not to make it back also is happening when you 10k ly away or more and without fuel. There you'd need another carrier coming to help. If less, that only means another week of tritium mining, which is tedious, but very far from impossible.

Services-wise my opinion is that everything except shipyard, outfitting, secure warehouse and pioneer supplies is a must have, if you do the activity module is for, even if not too often. Bar too, it's 1k more mats storage and ability to sell them on top of that, if you care about ground matters. These all are cheap, also light (except refuel, but well, idk how to live without refuel). The remaining 4 are more expensive and also sadly do add a lot of weight, so only if really necesssary.

When i bought one, i was staring for quite a really long while at the list of services. But in the end i bought all of them. Then played a bit with suspending not-needed-at-the-moment ones, but it also ended with everything disponible any time, too complicated. Then stared at outfitting packages and came out of the shop with small cargo racks, small fuel tanks/scoops (just temporary modules), medium utilities (afm de secours or another temporary docking computer/cruise assist/heatsinck), medium mining tools (can make a temporary miner out of any ship in some clicks, got only to keep some limpet controllers, a refinery and a pulse wave in stored modules) and medium hangars (temporary srv/fighter hangars). Those all are nice, light, rather useful and rather cheap. And after some time i also went back to shopping and got all weapon packages as well. Those are heavy and expensive, and not much use.

Now, i'm able in just some clicks equip a torpedo pylon in every hardpoint and see how it'll be looking like if i fire them. And then engi if it felt intresting. But my carrier capacity is only 14k t. And black market is selling 1 t of berillium and 1 t of gold that i apparently stolen somewhere. Well, at least i can get a clear picture of what and in what quantities i've ever stolen.

Trying the almost same K2 fitting on FDL.

It is not as efficient as K2 :cautious:

I thought you had to have it set as a tradeable commodity to be able to transfer. I read through The FC FAQ and gained some insight.

Oh I heard there is a frontier announcement coming up on 5/8 - probably new CG of humanitarian relief for dysonl!! :)

And I'm sure that's what WE all WILL be up to but as to what I AM up to. I bought nameplates!! Particularly effective on my li'l Fer-de-Lance. That's my eagle. Its name is FER-DE-LANCE. And now with the nameplates to strike fear into harmless pirates' hearts without even checking the contact list. Yarrr, they'll be shiverin in their booties!

Yesterday I saw a Baluga Liner get blown up inside Jaques station during it's launch it got wedged in the mail slot blocking all traffic. After it was blown up all it's debris was still in the mail slot, couldn't leave. Then someone bashed through it and was shot at and blown up, very interesting to watch. It took for ever to blow up the Baluga, it's shields kept regenerating.

Set up my Cutter for laser mining today because my second account needed Bromelite for Bill Turner unlock. If I have to mine, doing it in luxury. I can sell the Bromelite via the fleet carrier to my other account.
This means the Cutter has no docking computer. I took off from a station landing pad to find a Type 9 and Beluga trapped on top of each other just in front of the mail slot exit with another Beluga trying to come in.
Quit to desktop.... try again.

In flight entertainment, be a little more realistic if they had bodies floating around kicking and squirming.

I have a "What are you up to" question for you guys, what do you do while you're playing? I know Tyres can forum while playing with his impressive multi-screen setup. I, myself, have a 200+ play list on spotify and listen to music while doing the combat grind.

I'll bet some of you have some pretty interesting and cool stuff you do to help with the grind whether it's exploration, mining, blueprint fragments or CG's, anybody?

I sometimes listen to music while playing. Mostly though I have a few browser tabs open on my second monitor.

So, how did it go???
Very well, thank you. I used up 90T Tritium, got first discovery on half a dozen planets, surface scanned 3 WW and made 6M in UC.
This thing pays for itself!!
Set to jump another 500Ly towards Eta now (50 mins wait time!).
See what happens after tomorrows update.

parked my fleet carrier at v429 carinae, ternebrae region:) using other account made enough cash in cg buy myself a t9 but goal was achieved trying get bigger drive,ah well made some cash thinkiing buying a cobra, but unlocking the eingeeres mispelt, but might get diamond back explorer later, cobra has space for srv and that surface scanner,im dreading trying find guardian tech, one time met folk online cool, tried get aboard there ship lol ,flash the lights circle left button on ps4

When I was playing often, I would almost always catch up on podcasts and Youtube subs. That's actually one of the things I enjoyed about it being my primary game actually. Particularly during lockdown and my Colonia run where I was just blasting through systems. Audio distractions aren't a complete death sentence like they are in games like Hunt Showdown.

used play a golf game wgt ,made friends didnt want post other thread, but miss folk game not same, its oucj, the tt races are on my thoufgts em as well,im basically getting drunk
Playing 2 games at the same time? impressive. I had an old Mac back in 87-88 I played golf on and Dungeons & Dragons, It only had a micro floppy disc drive (as opposed to the 5.25 inch flimsy drive). It was an all in one we got from my wife's father, no hard drive (a 512Mb drive cost $4500). I thought that machine was wicked cool.

Go back a few years and it was briefly possible for the nasty minded to build a Cutter that was tougher than the station guns, they would then go and park in the slot, this was considered by them to be a great answer to other people having fun using that station for say a CG.

I have a few things open on different tabs in the browser that I will occasionally alt tab to but only on very long cruises or when docked or landed but nothing cool or distracting just the forums and some external tools.
