Yeah. The Command Centre is usually the first thing to visit if you're going to snoop around.I found this rather interesting settlement today, just flying about exploring a system a bit. It's the first time I've seen a fairly high mountain in Odyssey.

The landscape surrounding the place was interesting, although somehow unreal looking.

And then there was this. Yeah, that's realistic for sure.

I have to admit I'm not really liking the planetary tech so far. Most places look boring or weird. You can find some nice views, but overall the beauty of the game seems to have diminished.

On another note, I was doing a Restore Power mission earlier. It's one I've done a few times, at a base I know fairly well. This time, however, I noticed for the first time a machine called a "Sample Container." It had a door that I could open using my security clearance, so I opened it.
All the alarms went off, blaring away. I guess you're not supposed to open that. I wasn't too worried -- the base was empty.
Not a minute later, 5 commandos stormed into the room and started shooting at me. These were not pirates, these guys had security clearance. Suddenly I was the criminal!
I had enough presence of mind to activate my shield and run for the ship. I had to ditch my SRV (they blew it up), but I got away.
That was unexpectedly exciting. If I try it again, I'm gonna locate the alarms and stuff and turn them off first.![]()
Not just anarchy systems, check the status of the bases and stations as well if one of those is an Anarchy you could find them there, that is how I lucked into mine.On the subject of e-breaches, are there any on sale or its some 'quest' item? Non of the shops I have seen sell em.

Luck o' the draw. I have had various scavenger missions in the light and in the dark. Same with combat. Why are all on-foot missions on the dark side of the planet? Bad timing, I s'pose!![]()
I can only hit with my plasma SNIPER rifle if I use it like a bleedin bayonet up close.Luck o' the draw. I have had various scavenger missions in the light and in the dark. Same with combat.
Finding I can take out at least 2 blue guys guarding the site, but not above 3 or more.
They are much more accurate with the long range manticore executioner than I am. need engineering mods.
Haha. Well I can take 'em out from across the base, so there!I can only hit with my plasma SNIPER rifle if I use it like a bleedin bayonet up close.
I found a base that's on a tidally locked plant and is always in the light. So there's thatWhy are all on-foot missions on the dark side of the planet? Bad timing, I s'pose!![]()
I guess like in the fallout games, plasma is rather slow compared to kinetic weapons. A sniper is normally as well undetected before he is launching his attack, in which case the travel time of the plasma charge isn't important. But if you are detected already, the enemy will certainly try to evade the impact - guess that is why it is hard to hit with it long-range.I can only hit with my plasma SNIPER rifle if I use it like a bleedin bayonet up close.
It does seem that headshots don't work. Center of mass only. If you hit them with the first shot, they stagger, and you have time for a second one to finish them off. If they had their shields down, the first shot will usually kill them.I guess like in the fallout games, plasma is rather slow compared to kinetic weapons. Yeah, I got that from watching videos, that the main thing seems to be hitting them consistently to keep them mostly staggered. I saw in the alpha as well, that their aim is mostly off, whenever they are under consistent fire. But as far as plasma goes, it might be good for an undetected sniper, but as a ranged weapon it isn't that good once detected. It does seem that headshots don't work. Center of mass only. Indeed. Then you switch to the shotgun. That thing really does a number close up, and if you over-damage the shield it then damages the NPC's health (unlike the other weapons).Yeah, I got that from watching videos, that the main thing seems to be hitting them consistently to keep them mostly staggered. Yah, these growth patches on the ground are annoying.Found this biological. Really hard to spot and had to do a lot of driving/flying to get the biodiversity required. Also got first footfall. Posting this image so highlighting something to look out for:

The problem with all the rifles is that they are short ranged, for taking them out at a distance I like the Karma L-6 missile launcher.I can only hit with my plasma SNIPER rifle if I use it like a bleedin bayonet up close.
