Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Are you going to glam it up with the livery items, or at least make the ATC intelligible?
I'd like to change the voice. I might do that.

Does your FC's Commodities Market buy Tritium? I called in at a few in Borann and nobody was buying it. Sold it in Garay instead.
I haven't even looked at the Commodities part. I'm not particularly interested in that, but I should probably figure out how to do it, right? Maybe it'll turn out to be useful.

Odd, that. I looped away and came round for another pass, no messages and could land normally. No greeting party or death from the skies, and i flew to a poi on the other side without reaction.Must be a bug.Pretty sure i read a matching description somehere. I'll try the Raxxlaaa thread, see if it matches. Not that i really follow the story on this one, no idea what is expected to find there, or why it's a 'thing'.Guess i'd have to read the story to find out.

Sometimes you're the wolf, sometimes you're the wabbit.

On a trek to catalog and photograph some freighters and capital ships for Callsign J-KR (which nobody seems to be reading) and while taking some snaps of a Samson class hauler, a Sagan class ship fell under attack nearby. Feeling benevolent, and in a Cobra that, for a change, was not equipped with AX weapons and instead had engineered beams and MCs I decided to lend a hand.
Stripped the shields from a Deadly NPC in a Python and was giving chase to finish it off with MCs when a couple of rounds pinged off the Sagan. Instant bounty. (it may have been more than a couple of rounds, and perhaps made the skipper spill his tea). The Python disintegrated, giving a nice bonus that would just about cover the ammo, then I find myself the target of God only knows how many other ships. There were so many beams playing around the Cobra it felt like I was stuck in a disco from the 1990s.
By the time I'd picked a star to high wake to I was revisiting ye olde familiar rebuy screen.

Grrrrr. Taking all these pics is costing me an arm and a leg.

Ewwps...
Yup, those inadvertent hits can really ruin your day. :D

I was bored and decided to do some High G landings but I was too lazy to go anywhere further than Achenar 3 which was a jump away. I've landed on higher G planets so to make it challenging I decided to try it in a stock Sidewinder I bought for the occasion named Disco Volante which I fully expected to crash. To my surprise I not only was able to do it with no damage (though it wasn't pretty) but I managed lift off afterwards which I'd read might be a problem. While I did not need another Sidewinder (my first I mainly keep out of nostalgia) I'm so proud of the little ship I'm adopting it into the fleet.

.. I did hear of the 3080 and other advances, I can wait....I think I can wait...I'll do a google search shall I ..:unsure::whistle:
Well, that search went well.... new laptop, room for a fleet Carrier and to stretch my legs later. Good for 5 years I hope.
It's got one of these in it, GPU processor: GeForce RTX 2080 Super with Max-Q Design Dedicated video memory: 8192 MB GDDR6.
It I see frame stutter I taking it back....😰... waiting for the clean download to finish, for the big test.

Back in the Phantom, setting my galmap to display non-visited stars. A change I didn'tt see in the patch (I admit I didn't go through with one of the fine-toothed things) was that there is no icon for system information when you hover over a um... system - unless you've already visited it.

Aaaaanyway. I'm out looking for pristine rings now, almost feverish in a quest to find pristine rings and overlapping hotspots. Could bea while.

Nothing, nothing at all, not at all transferring the majority of my fleet to my new mobile base of operations ...

Alec has written something interesting about those "Liberate Diplomatic Bags" missions in the Discord - I'm tempted to fire up my battleship and try one of these this evening.
But those base scan missions in a fast Viper are just too much fun - poke the base and run, while you see them shooting over your head. If they even manage to sort out their turrets and ships before I'm over the horizon :devilish:.
