Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Well, part of my 'problem' with Combat Elite, is I won't sack the SLF crew.
I decided on the Tanya account that grinding was right out. Of course all the previous experience means achieving 'x' involves little that might be called 'grind' anyway.
(I still keep doing Guardian Sites even though I've unlocked all the Broker stuff... 🤷‍♀️).

Same here. Trained mine up to Elite and don’t want to let him go. We’ve been through a lot together and he deserves his billion credits plus. Just that last push from Deadly to Elite does seem to be taking a rather long time now though (currently 77% Deadly and creeping)

Yes, that another thing.
Did they finally fixed the thing where crew still steals your XP after reaching Elite? That would help a lot.
I don't mind giving them money.

I don't know about them stealing rank after they reach Elite, but there is an answer to them stealing rank in general that doesn't include Hire & Fire and that is to just not take them on combat missions when you are trying for rank. They only take your money when they are sat in the station bar.

Started an alt pilot! Managed to get a Dbx Explorer, and starting to unlock engineers. Farmed the community doulbe engineered FSD so now my jump range is 73 years even before engineers, and it's easy to get everywhere. Farming the crystal forests for raw mats next!!

Was discussing Type 10 as a CZ ship last night with a squadmate.

It is probably wrong in more ways than one, but it gets the job done and is fun to pilot.
It doesn't look too bad, but fast charge would be better on the shields than multi-weave. IMHO, T10 is too slow for this type of combat. It takes too long to chase down targets.

Actually made it to Shin'Dez' and bought that DBX I've been banging on about for several days! Jumped about 70ly outside the bubble, literally second system I found myself a methane moon with no footfalls. Quickly remedied that, especially because I hadn't seen a methane atmosphere before.

And yes, it is still absurdly easy to tag a planet that isn't very far away. Get out of your ships and use your legs! 😹 (Maybe the lesson here is it's actually the console crowd who get most tags?)

Bit of a mix on the engineering front. This is mostly A rated, particularly thrusters and powerplant, because wow, this little buddy is so manoeuvrable vs my iClipper. I had forgotten how quickly a small ship can stop. A rated thrusters on a big ship are nothing remotely close to A rated thrusters on a little one. D rated life support, only 1 laser (I'm not even sure why I have that), plenty of boost capacity, and a thermally resistant shield booster that weighs more than the D rated shield generator. Possibly because with a ship this agile, I am absolutely going to smack into something at high speed at some point - and if it gets attacked, NPCs will absolutely hit it with lasers first, and it shrugs those off.

Still has a nice 69ly jump range. That'll do, donkey 😸

I have painted it green and named it the Kobold Bard, for reasons literally nobody but about 10 people on this beautiful grassy green earth will understand.

Anyway, despite it's convenient mud flats, the first moon was a pita to find the requisite 3x bacteria on, but thankfully it also has 2 sisters with methane atmospheres. The first was very compliant, rapidly delivering the bio data I was after with no particular effort.

Lovely white snow too. Like an idiot I failed to screenshot the beautiful footprints I was leaving. Sadge.

Meanwhile the third moon is... it is... it is green. Apparently this is the colour of methane, since I know for a fact green stars cannot exist in our universe.

Overall, I love the DBX's flight handling, even in supercruise, but I have concerns about it's single SRV bay and lack of self repair systems. It'll be absolutely amazing for near-bubble footfalling, but I'm a bit scared to take it deeper into the black. Feel like I need to kit out my Phantom with some top notch thrusters and PP, and see how that performs. Maybe it will be a happy medium of capability and manoeuvrability.

Oh, also, slowly creeping up the exobiology ranks!

This actually feels like it might be one of the faster grinds. Very low pay for the hours, but the ranks are coming in pretty well.

….
No console footfall tags in the game as they don’t get Odyssey until it is working much better.

Remember that something like 99.95% of the game galaxy is unexplored, so there is lots to find.

Space really is big...

According to the Wiki:

... The galaxy is 400bn stars big. Wonder if that's the US billion or the "long" UK one. I'll look it up sometime.

In either case, it'll be a long time i.e. never until we've explored everything. And that is one thing that makes my explorer juices flow. And... one only has to travel a relatively short distance to start uncovering the hitherto undiscovered. I'm approximately 2.5 Kylie's out and getting first disco's.

Dear me, look at the time! :D I love insomnia.

You want a Dolphin.

Do I win a prize?

How about a copy of your DBX build :ROFLMAO:

Lol, well, that isn't my kobold bard, but I do play a kobold bard in a D&D campaign! It's a niche choice but I'm aware of a few others with an internet presence 😹

(My bard is this guy: Source: https://twitter.com/nekozji/status/1478403484013707272
)

Is there an easy way to show my ship build, or do I have to go through it manually? x)

I encountered a deadly npc dual PA vette, the other hardpoint on it could be some frag cannons and then seems nothing else .... i guess, because through out the 3 mins fight, I only saw it fired PAs and frag once (i saw the frag fly by, but no hit registered). And this poor NPC..... none of the shots landed on me!!!

I did dancing around with 0-3-3 pip, but I don't think that really make me so hard to shoot at~!? Could be bugged or what? Well, bounty and mission reward pocketed, feel bad for him. 🤑

BTW, the paint on my whack'em-all conda started to wear off... showing how trusty it is to me and served me well. O7
