What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Haven’t posted on here in a really long time, I really haven’t had a lot of motivation, I’ve been playing around with JWE2 with mods and the new pack plus life in general, just resulted in PZ taking a backseat, except when it comes to speculation of course lol.
Anyway I’ve finished the first habitat in the House of Tropics, welcoming in the elusive Clouded Leopard to the building including an outdoor and indoor space (which btw I hate designing interior guest areas).

Oh wow, this is incredible! I can’t wait to see where this goes next!

I kept working on the entrance of my new zoo. There are some toilets, information booths and the Dodo coffee shop. The park will have an elevated path around the zoo and visitors must walk under this path to enter the zoo, so I used the "tunnel" to place the first exhibit animals.

Haven't played much lately but I did continue work on the entrance/children's zoo area of Biopark.
While the wooly pigs already settled into their new but simple habitat, the prairie dogs are waiting off show as their new area isn't done yet (but is coming along nicely). On the right site of the prairie dog habitat is going to be tunnel to give the guests a more eye-leveled view of these small critters, and the entrance to the domes will also be reached by the tunnel.

Also, I still need a name for the whole children's zoo area (petting zoo, llamas, pigs, prairie dogs, wallabies, butterfly garden, zoo school). Do you have any suggestions? It should sound more interesting than just "Children's Zoo" and I can't really come up with a good name. Please let me know your ideas!

Took a short break from building the never ending backstage blueprints to add some progress to the houston zoo project. The first animal building of the zoo has a very complex rooftop which was not as challenging as it would normally be by utilising my many blueprints - the air con base pack + vents , and the transformers, electric boxes and generators blueprints of the backstage megapack were used along with endless amount of gutter pipes.

Comparing to this to an old example of what what possible with the air conditioning blueprint of the workshop before I started making mine, it is a massive improvement in the level of detail and realism possible to add to buildings.

The first habitats for Municeberg Zoo are done. When visitors pass the entrance area, they arrive at the main zoo store, but since the vendor refuses to enter, visitors must skip the shop and enjoy the two side habitats of the building.

On the right side, they can find the lovely prairie dogs.

And on the left side visitors can find collared peccaries! It's a bit absurd the amount of shelter these pigs need. I had to enlarge the shelter several times and even add a second shelter (and there are only 4 animals).

Little by little, this old city zoo is taking shape!

Today i did the outdoor section for the tapirs, finishing up this habitat aswell.
The tapir and capybara habitats are linked and have in the lore once been seperate habitats that were combined to increase wellfare of both species, so the tapir outdoor area needed a pool aswell, but instead of a natural one its a lime extension of the house, conveniently with just enough space to get the water need of both species into the green, neat!
Overall not a very special habitat, but as one of the "older" habitats of the zoo, that fits pretty well

I continued working on the Latin American portion of the zoo, with a habitat for the Marsh Deer as a main focus. Next up: the Bush Dog, a huge monkey aviary over the river ride, and if I still feel like it, a small and simple Ocelot habitat. And then, perhaps, finally, this zoo is finished.

UNLESS I decide to build the Greek temple ruins for my Mute Swan and Canada Goose flocks.

This game is never done!

Just a heads up, posting pictures of mods could be considered against forum rules (as advertising/promoting non-Frontier content) so just be careful.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to play much during the week. I had a small surgery last Thursday and am able to sit at the PC again for the first day today. I'll be home for a few more days and can certainly increase my PC time a bit.
So no huge update today. I built something else on the ape house.

This build convinces me that maybe, just maybe i should think about increasing dimensions in some places. In any case thats a phenomonal looking building, absolutly stunning!
I can totally see this as part of a real zoo, something i often struggle to do with my own creations.

I feel like that enclosure lacks some more climbing options for the apes... But at the same time, that increases its realism, congrats! 😅👌

I called mine "Critter Corner"

Thanks!
Try it. I'm not that good at this sort of thing myself, I look at a lot of pictures on Zoochat from German zoos. That gives a lot of inspiration. I save everything I like in an image folder so that I can always access it again. I also stole the optics a bit from Yeti's Amazon house. Especially the diamond glass panel idea from the Twilight Pack, I always forget that these beautiful glass panels exist and often someone posts something here in the thread and I think to myself "OH! I can use that there or for that, cool!"
I also like to draw everything out on graph paper and then just start building.

I hate building climbing frames, this is the maximum I can offer. I'm proud that I didn't use the forntier blueprints.

I perhaps got something for ya
This climbing frame was quite popular and people asked me to upload it to the workshop, so it might be of use to you

Did a bit more south america, finsihing the exterior of the capuchin enclosure, aswell as starting to build the holding area for most likly coatis or an aviary and the first exhibit, that for now is occupied by the yellow anaconda till something else strikes me as more fun.
mw1.jpeg

But after doing some rather annoying work on the aviary that keeps my monkeys in check i didnt really feel like doing the interor besides scattering some enrithment so i moved on to the next habitat, using the other free holding area in my house for maned wolfs.
Currently not much besides terraforming has been done, aswell as some decoratin to hide the staff path behind the capuchins, but i really like the layout of how the maned wolf and capuchin enclosures flow into each other. Cant wait to get some more work done on them!
