What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I know I'm going to be using the North American animals in several zoos, but I also like to create a zoo specifically for each continent and only it's species. I began work on my North American dedicated one last night, just for the entrance area, will be neat to see where this goes. I really debated waiting until we got the new terrain map tools but decided to just go for it.

Looks really nice so far 👍

Today I build this building
I think for the future elefant breeding programm.
Don't ask...the octagonal roof was a nightmare 😂 and it looks like sh**... and takes me hours...

What I would like to propose, I do not know if it is easy to do.

I think it would be interesting if, in the middle of the paths of the zoo, tiles could be incorporated that have a reproduction of the impression of animal tracks. Something like this:

The blank lettering phrase reads: "Finland is not that far

It could also include, next to the information poster of the animal of the enclosure, another poster in which the impression of its tracks is seen. Something like this:

Spent way too much time in Adobe Illustrator making a map!

Wow, the map is amazing, Ralph!

I tried to switch out african penguins with seals but turned out my huuuge penguin habitat was too small for seals. Now I'm a bit worried with the sea lion habitat I'm building, to be honest... and when you turn off space requirements the animals still act weird when the habitat is too small. My seals behaved like corks, never deep diving, even though there was plenty of room.

Thank you! This is the tutorial I followed if anyone is interested:

Lol. Okay. Managed to accomodate the huge penguin habitat for three grey seals. Their traversable area is "a bit" ridicolius, isn't it? Also demolished the Sea lion habitat and told myself that it was at least practice. With the surprising space requirements of the seals, I'll definately wait what the sea lions might need.

(Can you tell I never really played with aquatic species yet? :D Building unerwater viewings frustrates me, but as we now get my beloved sea lions, I want to finally get into it. Especially since I hope the african penguins might need different requirements in the future - hopefully)

I've been working on a Sable Antelope Habitat today. I actually wanted to put the Gemsbok, as that would have fit the Desert Dome I decided to make better, but I accidently bought the wrong Animal and just went with it :ROFLMAO:

Right next to them is a Meerkat Habitat in Progress.

On the other half of the dome is a fennec habitat.
I've also been working on some scenery over this weekend.

Who knows, maybe in a few months I'll move the Sable Antelopes to a savannah area and rebuild their habitat to fit a herd of Gemsboks...

Was absent from this thread for a few days and it was a pleasure seeing all the updates on everyone's zoos!

I have been super inspired by the NA pack. I am back working on my Autumn Falls Park. I renovated the flamingo habitat because they were short on space, and built a desert house which holds camels, gemsbok, and meerkats. Originally, I also had the fennec foxes and African penguins, but the house was irregularly shaped and waaaaaay too big. It was quite ugly, so I demolished everything and made a nicer looking building. I wanted to hide the shape with lots of trees around it, but there was no salvaging that mess. :p I have also started working on Capuchin Cafe - and indoor cafe/Capuchin habitat. My guests are very hungry and thirsty. I can't post pictures atm, but will post them later.

Did some rearranging of the habitats in my Jamestown Zoo North America section, and getting some initial terrain down (the more exciting part). Getting the basic shapes I want first though I still have one corner to go, and will work on foliage and rocks in the next few days. Unfortunately when I moved the Moose and Beaver habitats around, I got the dreaded "terrain modification failed" error with the beaver's habitat, and despite raising and flattening, then just flattening, and everything I could think of, I just ended up having to start over with a new habitat with it. I sure hope it's enough space as I've kind of worked myself into a corner on that one, and it's still not what I really envisioned, but at this point it is what it is.

So in the area I'm working on, top row, Beaver/Cougar and bottom row Moose and Prairie Dog kind of disjointed over by itself to the lower right. I know biome wise it's not really the right place for the Moose so I'm not sure if I"ll do mountains or forests or plains or what. And then the section with the Prairie Dogs maybe deserts to transition to South America below all of this? I'm really not sure, lots of decisions!
