A lot of animals do, almost none have got them. They haven't made new enrichment items for a long time. It'd also need completely new enricment items

I have a concept called the Savannah animal pack, which i believe I've shared on the forum before. It contains the secretary bird as well as 2 Enrichment items, the Perch Log (self explanatory) and the Snake Dummy (a false snake with food inside it), and with what I want from the sec, it would be a miracle for frontier's lacking staff to pull off in a regular timeframeI dont think the secretary is anything crazy either.
Considering how convincing the modded on based on the crane works id say that one is also one of the pretty doable ones.
Now, should a official one have a new rubber snake and some sort of perch enrichment?
Yes.
Will we get that?
Highly doubt it.
We havent gotten a "new" enrichment in 2 years most we have gotten is retextured food enrichments with the jelly for the anniversary the time before that was a new ball in twilight. Last time we got an actually unquie enrichment item was the scratching posts and scarecrow in conservation 2 years ago. It'd also need completely new enricment items
Then it wouldn't have any food enrichmentWe havent gotten a "new" enrichment in 2 years most we have gotten is retextured food enrichments with the jelly for the anniversary the time before that was a new ball in twilight. Plenty of animals have needed new enrichment none have gotten it no reason to suspect the secretary bird would be different.
This is a bad argument because what is stopping them from using any of the existing food enrichment like the feeder balls, forage box, slow feeder, pinata or some others im forgetting sure it wont be super realistic but nothing in this game is.Then it wouldn't have any food enrichment
The secretary bird is one of the most particular animals in the world, it pretty much only eats snakes and they do this by stalking them and rapidly stomping on their head, even if you did use the Skittle Feeder (the only one i can think of that could work here) you'd still need a from scratch animation for one animal for one interaction on one itemThis is a bad argument because what is stopping them from using any of the existing food enrichment like the feeder balls, forage box, slow feeder, pinata or some others im forgetting sure it wont be super realistic but nothing in this game is
But that’s just one extreme example there are plenty of easier birds than the Secretary. So using its complexity isn’t really good enough to justify why we don’t get more. The secretary bird is one of the most particular animals in the world, it pretty much only eats snakes and they do this by stalking them and rapidly stomping on their head, even if you did use the Skittle Feeder (the only one i can think of that could work here) you'd still need a from scratch animation for one animal for one interaction on one item
Understand that Frontier is quite low on staff, and they have other active projects than Planet zoo, including a brand new sister game sequel that they have poured countless resources intoBut that’s just one extreme example there are plenty of easier birds than the Secretary. Frontier attempted to make a Sifaka so they clearly have enough resources to try and make some higher effort animals. Birds such as the Rhea or American Flamingo would be much simpler to make than the Sifaka. So frontier absolutely has enough resources to create birds if they have attempted other higher effort animals.Understand that Frontier is quite low on staff, and they have other active projects than Planet zoo, including a brand new sister game sequel that they have poured countless resources into
What is also to consider is a sequel, people would want an incentive to purchase the next instalment, why not animals that they felt were missingFrontier attempted to make a Sifaka so they clearly have enough resources to try and make some higher effort animals. However frontier has plenty of other unique features available which would likely have greater market pull when creating a sequel such as aviaries, aquariums, an exhibit overhaul and existing improvements present in planet coaster 2 such as an improved pathing system and the light physics allowing for nocturnal houses. I doubt people would buy the sequel over the presence of a handful of monkeys and birds not present in the original, when there are a large host of other attractive features likely to pull in customers. What is also to consider is a sequel, people would want an incentive to purchase the next instalment, why not animals that they felt were missing
I suppose, i merely play Devils advocate, i agree that certain animals should be in the game (such as the Coati, it is literally a Raccoon Lemur)However frontier has plenty of other unique features available which would likely have greater market pull when creating a sequel such as aviaries, aquariums, an exhibit overhaul and existing improvements present in planet coaster 2 such as an improved pathing system and the light physics allowing for nocturnal houses. Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty certain they are pretty generalist feeders.
May have gotten me there, but i mainly mean method, the only things really are the skittle and slow feedersCorrect me if im wrong, but im pretty certain they are pretty generalist feeders
I mean the skittle feeder would work pretty well for that, they could add an animation where they jump on it or kick it and peck at whatever drops out afterwardsMay have gotten me there, but i mainly mean method, the only things really are the skittle and slow feeders
While we're in this topic, I'm not the only one that thinks the melon feeder is underwhelming, am i?I mean the skittle feeder would work pretty well for that, they could add an animation where they jump on it or kick it and peck at whatever drops out afterwards
Man, I really hoped for a long term we could get perches as enrichment items. It’s the easiest way to get any form of “flying birds” without anything absolutely crazy.I dont think the secretary is anything crazy either.
