Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

You using Joystick or Keyboard? For Joystick, may be you need to adjust the curve a bit (if the driver/bundled software allow it).
XBox 360 gamepad. Except for my fingers, not much to adjust I would know of.
Screenshots when docked (with the clock in the top right visible) or a video of the run, usually. With the regulation Cobra, usually also some shots of the loadout.
Easy enough.
Still not sure if I am ready for such a challenge, though.
I take it that it doesn't matter if I play in Solo...

Only one way to find out...
Technically, this might not be that much of a problem. I might not be the fastest, but I think I could survive.
Finding an undisturbed timeslot IRL and getting my mindset sorted would be my main issue.
No - everybody is welcome. Any platform, any game mode. Open has the advantage of the possibility of meeting other racers. Occasionally fatally inside the mail slot.
Yeah, like that guy in Alec's video about an attempt of his for the Doble Trouble race... Blasts past him, right into a wall... Ouch.

Got my first ever Notoriety yesterday. Encountered the restore-power-to-an-already-powered-settlement mission bug without realising it, I landed right next to the PWR building and went straight in without encountering anyone, I was staring at the power regulator housing thinking "shouldn't that bit have slid out" when I was surprised by someone saying "Hey, you shouldn't be in here!". I assumed they were a scavenger and shot them.

Oops. That'll teach me to be more observant. At least it was a short sprint back to the ship.

Oof. I haven't seen that bug before!

I did several races a few years ago now, I had already figured out that I was unlikely to be competitive partly because even watching the videos I couldn’t see how to do a gravity slingshot but it was a great set of experiences.

I would do several runs so that there was a chance I might see an improvement.

There was one event possibly involving four stations with noob-hammers where I decided after a couple of runs to try for a special mention for least appropriate ship by using a T9 Heavy.

I think, for my preferred "style" in a CZ, dual wielding Aphelion's with a Zenith is heaps more effective.
Catching up on posts.
Interesting that someone who does a lot of on foot CZs thinks this. I've done maybe about 20 on foot CZs so far and still find the Aphellion is the most effective weapon for me. I think I'll stick with it since I'll never do enough on foot CZs to experiment. I bought a grade 2 months ago. I need to find a grade 3 or two and maybe I'll engineer this one weapon,

The only downside is the Enforcer enemy. You can rip their shields down quite quickly with the Aphelion but they have tough armour which takes a while with that gun.

Back from my 25KLY exploration trip to the nebulae - finishing two suits that were in progress before i left: Maverick & Dominator versions of my Artemis Assassin... just in case they are needed somewhere, someday :]

Well, in a moment of insanity bravery, I deactivated autolaunch. Haven't had a big station yet, thus everything's fine so far.
Haha tape it when so! We can send it on to The Milky Way's Funniest Landing Attempts

Good for you, that's the way you still got it to turn back on if frustrated. Practice in some desert plains then graduate to a landing pad, or a bluff!
