Grouchy wouchy I can't believe I've been so stupid. I've dived into this game without asking for any help in the beginning. I hope folks can learn from my doing that. Don't just spend maximum amount of money on everything. Initially I purchased top dollar everything only to find im out of pocket and not going anywhere fast. A RATE FSD AND D EVERYTHING ELSE.. I will do that tonight and report back my results.
FWIW, here's a quick example of an okayish, basic, multirole Python build: https://s.orbis.zone/325e
Beyond that, a couple more websites which'll be useful.
EDDB: https://eddb.io/ (For help finding modules, planets, factions and stuff)
INARA: https://inara.cz/ (For pretty much EVERYTHING in ED - just not quite as straightforward as EDDB at times)
Canonn: https://canonn.science/ (For learning about everything that happens inside the game)
A couple of rules of thumb:-
Always fit an A-rated FSD (cos they give you the best range)
Always fit an A-rated Power Plant (cos they have the best thermal characteristics)
D-rated stuff is always the lightest but that's not always the most important thing.
B-Rated stuff is always the toughest but it's also the heaviest.
Also, it's easy to earn credits. It's not so easy to find engineering mat's.
Earn enough credits to buy the modules you WANT to fit to a ship rather than wasting mat's engineering modules that are "all I can afford right now".
