And if you prefer something liquid, you could go with: ship enters guardian portal stash pilsner :)
But can’t be “guardian”!
No “u” in “Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling Stars”!! 🧐

With “Alien Ship At Rhea in Sol”
I can also get “Alt press” & “Press start”
With “C pnd rg S” left over.

So yesterday afternoon I was flying around Rhea frantically pressing the Alt key and typing “start” into the Quick Comms text panel. Nothing happened so far! 🙂

Edit: just keeping “alien ship at Rhea in Sol” and rearranging “CpndrgSAltstart” I get:
Crap (slang) - perhaps need to repeat carrying some biowaste? (Keen galactic gardeners?)
Sandtraps (maybe I need to take some golf clubs?)
Car parts (anybody seen that Tesla of late?)
Last gasp (maybe it appears if you turn off your life support?)
ALS scan (do we have an ALS in the ship? Been spamming the Discovery Scanner!):
Advanced Life Support
Approach Light System
Auto/All Weather/Advanced Landing System (Advanced Docking computer for autodock?)
Airborne Laser Scanner
Assistive Listening System (listen for it?)
Active Light System (blink ship lights?)

I was cheating. ;)

I did a check on the sentence. It produces 13259 separate English words. It can give a lot of different stuff.

I'm a bit sceptical to a solution that is locked to the English language, when the Codex is multilingual.

Good point!
But “Rhea” & “Sol” are fixed names so no change. “Alien”? “Ship”?
It’s supposed to be “cunningly concealed facts”, so probably wouldn't need “ship” for it to make sense as a clue!
Think Google Translate is playing me false; seems to continually treat “alien”as English...edit: ah yes, tried it in the reverse direction & “alien” changes significantly with language. But as per the previous argument just “Rhea+”Sol” makes for a significant clue. But there are then lots of letters so back to the basic idea...needs to be checked by people who are a) good with anagrams and b) astronomically knowledgeable!

What made me start thinking was the “hints for those with eyes to see” - possibly i i 2 c? i i c c?
Might try to add these into the anagram solver.

Yes, it produces a lot of English words, but for a valid clue they’ve got to make sense within the context of the game and location, which rules most of them out (I was only joking about Leeds station! 😁).

What I need is an anagram solver using astronomical terminology. All I can find is anagram solutions of the word “astronomy”! 🥺

Doing it manually anagramming the book title I can get: Sol Ship asteroid Earth Io Callisto Dione Rhea Titan Ariel Titania Triton Charon.

Ok, if this is true then we have the following possibilities:
1 - if that cmdr honked the basic or intermediate scanner (pre-3.4 ED had basic, intermediate and advanced, and only the advanced could scan the whole system), and if Raxxla was further than 500 or 1000 ls then it's still hidden. (I find this the most likely scenario)
2 - if said cmdr had the advanced scanner then he found the planet that holds Raxxla but didn't go there. It might mean it was not apparent at long distances and he had to visit each body and didn't - IMHO FDev were then giving us a hand here when they introduced the FSS, at least let's hope so.
2a - if an EDSM/EDDB/INARA E: D account link was present then that system is on their databases (incompletely scanned most likely)
2b - if the account wasn't linked then it's only present in Univ Cartographics (if the cmdr didn't blow the ship before selling the data) .... aaand we have nothing.
I don't know if you realise, but every system within about 300ly of Sol is in EDSM. No exceptions. Yes many are incompletely scanned, but that number too is decreasing.

Well, it jumped out at me because it aligns with the hypothesis I’ve been testing. There may be other versions, try it and see!😉

Mind, I’ve been looking around here for a while now & not a sniff of an alien ship so far!
But it seems reassuring that I’m on the right lines.
Last night I was looking for combinations that had something to do with space and I found these phrases:

Alpha Site Stargate
Athosian in Stargate
Disappearing Earth
Dragons in the Stars
Generation starship
Interstellar grains
The Great Annihilator
Starships in Stargate

But using the combinations for the paragraph "Tothejewelthatburnsonthebrowofthemotherofgalaxies" I found four phrases that caught my attention, they probably don't mean anything but I kept thinking about it:

There’s Something Out There
For Him Who Has Ears To Hear
Out of All Them Bright Stars
Here, Beneath the North Star

None of the other paragraphs of the Dark Wheel toast show any interesting phrases.

Whats the first track, on the outer rim?
Ya know, it's funny you ask. First track is "Obscured By Clouds", but track 4 is, "The Gold It's In The..."

"All I want to tell you, all I want to say
Is count me in on the journey.
Don't expect me to stay."

A proper place to pan for gold is in a what? A river or stream, of course we could include a cave.
And then we have track 8, "Mudmen" (Like the Mudlarks in Achenar?),
Childhoods End (A common motif of initiations, like the ones the DW are giving), and well who knows what else might be buried in there.

Always found it interesting that the mudlarks are in Achenar, and Achenar is the last star of the Eridanus constellation, a river running through ancient Greek Hades.
River, Gold, Mud....Mudmen. The river leads to Achernar, home of the Empire. Follow that further to the Emperial Palace in Cemiess and we find the planets Emerald and Jade. Coincidence? Even has a tourist beacon about Raul Santorini in Cemiess, the same Raul Santorini the tourist beacon in Tau Ceti speaks of.

"Raul "Proxmire" Santorini was the Federal Congressman and Governor of Tau Ceti from 3022 to 3098. Nicknamed "Proxmire" after an obscure historical reference, he was one of the few local Federal politicians who managed to achieve international fame and influence." (Like Pink Floyd?)

"Notably, he was singlehandedly responsible for stymying the Federation's plans to terraform and colonise the Cemiess system in 3031 and 3055, resulting in the Empire moving to colonise the system in 3080 practically unopposed."
Raul Santorini Wiki

Interestingly, Rafe, as in Alex Ryders mentor Rafe Zetter, and Raul, both mean the same thing, "Counsel of the Wolf and Wise Wolf". If we translate Rafe in Norse, and Raul in Latin.

"The mudlarks were a sentient species indigenous to Achenar 6d, which is known today as Capitol, the Heart of the Empire. Tragically, the mudlarks were driven to extinction in the early 24th century by bacteria carried by human colonists, though rumors persist that Emperor Henson Duval had deliberately wiped out the mudlarks to make way for his colonial development plans. The extinction of the mudlarks became the pretext for the Federation's failed attempt to capture Achenar.[1]"

Might also be worth mentioning that this constellation is also home to the WorldCraft HQ in Epsilon Eridani.

Another track is "A Saucerful of Secrets", I can easily read that as a flying saucer (basically what we are).
"Wot's Uh The Deal", also a fitting title for this quest. I mean really, what is the deal?

"Waiting on the first step
Show me where the key is kept
Point me down the right line because it's time"
.....
"Got to make it to the next meal
Try to keep up with the turning of the wheel"

"Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun", You mean like The Heart Of The Empire, Capitol?
Coincidence?

I'd be suspicious of any article whose 1st senetence contains a mistruth - the screen play came first, then the books.
Well, not quite right, the original storyline was written in the 50’s & then expanded significantly to turn it into the screen play and the 2001SO book was concurrent with that. Then came two later books & films.

Wikipedia: “2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 science fiction novel by British writer Arthur C. Clarke. It was developed concurrently with Stanley Kubrick's film version and published after the release of the film. Clarke and Kubrick worked on the book together, but eventually only Clarke ended up as the official author. The story is based in part on various short stories by Clarke, including "The Sentinel" (written in 1948 for a BBC competition, but first published in 1951 under the title "Sentinel of Eternity")”

I suspect we're all due to take the descent to Hell, once the 'beta' is over. I wonder if we will meet the Ghost of Tiresias at some point..

@Exekrator :
Hi compadre. I’m guessing you have the Spanish version of the Codex. Can you copy & paste here the paragraph about the “Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling Stars” please? I’d like to see how the Spanish version is phrased.

Claro, amigo! Here it is:

In the "tiny bit obvious" category, I got a funny idea last night: 1337 speech. I think many of you are familiar with it.
RAXXLA in 1337 speech is 12 4 10 10 1 4.
Now let's play a little: it can also be written 12 4 20 14. Or 12 4 2014.
12 april is International Day of Human Space Flight or Cosmonaut day (in Russia). On 12 april 1961 Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go to space, completing one orbit in the Vostok 3KA. It was also commemorated when NASA launched Columbia in the first shuttle mission (STS-1) in 1981.
2014 is the year ED launched.
There is a Gagarin star system (along with other astronaut-named star systems) in the Orion nebula. Going there to check them out.

But the word Raxxla existed decades before the release of Elite dangerous. Any theory could be possible, but I think it has nothing to do with the Elite Dangerous release date, and technically you could already play in December 2013.

Totally agree with the first part. But Raxxla's location in E:D could only exist after the gamma release in 2014. I was thinking more on the lines of an interesting coincidence. Either way, Orion nebula is pretty cool and I haven't been there anyway. :)
