How do you deal with combat logging?

Just pretend that they blew up.

Now if I could only buy gear from that pretend bounty and increase my rankings with that pretend kill. [rolleyes]

Block him, and then you'll never see him again. I'm speaking as a console player, and I'm assuming it works same way on PC.

This is the right answer. If everyone did this, the Soiled Deer Champions would suddenly find a dearth of targets.

How to deal with combat logging? Dont nerf decent ways of making money.

Corvette rebuy, 30-50 million. Some people think players should earn 1-2 million per hour, so each Corvette death you DONT combat log ideally requires 60-100 hours or grinding in their minds. Yeah, no. People are going to combat log.

Yes. Slow credit grind + lack of C&P = combat logging

Such negativity. Add the guy to your friends list. Invite him onto your discord. Explain to him why logging isnt cool and reporting loggers is just as bad.

Then go into private mode and make sweet sweet pew pew.

Lets be realistic here. This is a multiplayer game that has fractured the player base into three distinct groups. Open, Private Group, and Solo. logouts are instant. Combat logging as people put it is not a feature but neither is it discouraged because if it were there would be a timer on the logout. Crying about combat logging is like crying because so many people play in solo. If they wwanna avoid getting creamed fine let em avoid it and move on. This is applicable even if they initiated the combat. In other words it is hard for me to care, personally I would just keep on keeping on.

Rejoice.

Be happy.

You have just proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that you were the better pilot.

You won.

Take the win.

In the game of Elite where your skill is just about the only 'end-game' to speak of, spanking another player in an Anaconda is no mean feat. Yeah, he could have just been bad as , but then again, your skill might have increased. I remember the very first time tangling with a Conda......got spanked.

Now?

No more spankings.

Enough rambling. Take the win and move on.

I just move on, losing a kill equals no loss. Just another person playing their game.

Except combat logging not only affect kill situations but piracy as well. When you pull a ship with the intent to pirate and they log that cannot be spun as a win but a loss..

There is a logout timer, in combat...that is exactly why people combat log - kill the elitedangerous.exe process from task within their manager.

Am I reading your post incorrectly?

This right here - the game is an endless grind as it is. When some mope interdicts me for no reason (carrying NO cargo) in his battleconda just because....well my internet may just go out.

Except you cannot tell whether some has cargo till you pull them and scan

Having done door-to-door sales once upon a time, I think it's similar to a potential customer slamming the door in my face. Next door. it happens.[knocked out]

Seriously? You pull somone outta SC and then proceed to peel their ship like a banana and you get upset when they decide that they do not want to take part and log off... BECAUSE it has an effect on piracy and kill counts? I am just putting this out there again to be crystal clear, people are going to play how they play and if they log then they log no skin off my back. However when someone uses the complaint that it makes piracy less fun and has a negative impact on kill counts so thus should be punished, well that is just... I don't know but it makes very little sense. Sorry man it had to be said.

I've been dealing with a player lately who combat logs every time his conda looses shields, mind you that happens regardless of who initiates combat - he'll interdict me and then leave when loosing or when I'm on him he'll just pull the plug on his internet (he gets all kinds of laggy before disappearing) I've used report button in game allready, any other options?

Move on with your life. Seriously, it's your best bet. It's one guy, doesn't matter. So he decides to CLog? Big whoop. Chalk it up as a win for you, as he essentially forfeited, and do whatever you were doing. The only difference between a combat log and a kill for you is a graphical effect on your screen. That's it. Report him if you want, but just move on. Not worth coming to the forums about it.

No bounty, no combat rank. Not even close to being acceptable.
