Things that are already included in large numbers in the GMP shouldn't be submitted anymore IMO. I don't think anyone really cares about jumponium rich systems (unless they're in a region where there are none at all), or stars with close neutrons or black holes, or systems with multiple stars, or anything else so mundane.
I would suggest that the focus should be on unusual orbital configurations, particularly unusual ground features, high/low extremes, things that are actually unique or incredibly rare etc. The focus should be on what ANYONE would find interesting and go thousands of ly to see, not just something you think is interesting or haven't seen before. There's so much in the GMP now that all the 'easy stuff' has been covered quite sufficiently, I think now the hunt should focus on things that are truly rare and unique so the standards should be higher.
