Or how about something truly baroque and have 5 slots? It's a Python Mk II errrrr III, I guess it will have 4.
As you say, if FD wants to make sure it's even more OP, make it 5 or 6.

And hence count as one of the kids.Uh... while kids still use that phrase, that has been slang word for "great" since the 80s.
I think the kids today would either say it's "fione" or it's "Lit AF, no cap." Brainrot slang is hilarious (for the record, I'm in my early 50's).
Goid/Human-Goid hybrid ships should probably be incompatible with Thargoid tech. Just to add a downside, no SCO for example.Another: Human / Goid hybrids that require a totally different approach to ships. You are tied to Goid compatible stuff, can only be repaired at places with Goid tech brokers, but in exchange have the lightning lasers and different concepts of shields.

A privateer was a pirate with a license from some government to attack ships from other nations, so had the possibility of retiring safely.Privateers? Didn't know we were going posh in here.
Pirates is the name you're looking for. A privateer was a pirate who wasn't currently attacking you.
In my mind, I immediately heard the Ur-Quan voice say "Launch, launch, launch fighters."And the great thing is that these ships fill out the lineup by adding new branches, rather than simply trump older ones. Or make new SLFs, or SLF class ships with class one hyperdrives (like beta Elite D), proper SLF carriers (to tie into Vanguards, where you can launch 3+SLFs with players)....FD could keep the train going and add new gameplay.
You have got to stop coming up with awesome ideas. Gosh that imagination of yours, gesh. You put your ideas into my mind and i get kinda bummed, now i want that to! hahahaI agree with both of you. Releasing new ships is absolutely fine and I want to see more of them. What I don't want to see is 'more of the same' that is slight variations because that becomes old pretty quick and meta ships reduce varieties.
I like Coolgrove's idea to create new ships along new game loops. Yes, probably even more development work but that could justify an ongoing revenue stream and in parallel more fun for the players.
I am thinking of unique ships which can carry oversized SRVs for planetary transport (ok, that would be a lot to develop but huge fun), racing ships, construction ships for the colonies which have unique modules (e.g. air tanks, cranes, etc.), exploration ships for high-g landings. I admit, I am not a game designer and therefore lack creativity but I hope you get my idea

I fully expect to be sitting on a Biowaste cargo container when my Arx gets busy...Even Vermin (catchers) need somewhere to rest their posterior while basking...
I WANT 8, AND I WANTS IT NOW!!!As you say, if FD wants to make sure it's even more OP, make it 5 or 6.
PowerI WANT 8, AND I WANTS IT NOW!!!
My wife hates it when I call it that, she insists on "lavatory". And that I should stop shouting "Jettison!" when I flush.I fully expect to be sitting on a Biowaste cargo container when my Arx gets busy...
If only we had anything like that in the game. The difference between a pirate and a privateer is that the latter wouldn't end up in a gibbet at the harbour entrance of ports of their sponsoring state.
and building on the excellent work already done
Hmmm maybe not the 2 by the cabin, they will obscured by the Stellar erm noseGiven we know the landing gear is 2 rear + 1 front

Then this frame is quite interesting...

That was a sadistically brilliant bit of marketing for sure. 1) make it ugly 2) offer a buy-up cosmetic to fix it.Hi
Thanks for posting up the link to Burr Pit's video
I much prefer the Stellar version with the ship kit shown fitted in the comparison shot, now that I've seen it. It does help to smooth out those sharp angular lines at the nose a bit. Surprisingly.
