Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Well...while I'm jetting around here in Novas (some NHSS are still around), I feel a slight annoyance welling up inside me. For two weeks, the community has been fired up, collecting mats for the super weapon of ghostly Salvation - and then nothing at all is programmed so that players can somehow participate in the use of the weapon or even watch how it is released. How poor is that? Does FDev really think this will win them new friends? Hmm.
Have now also quickly mapped all 4 landable planets in Novas - no Tharg debris. How poor.
Yep salvations announcement is were it will be at if any thing ...Expecting it to say the super weapons mark 8 are now mobile, jumped. charged up, moved to better alinement with help of capital cllas ship , fired then jumped out...
Nothing to see ...

SALVATION TRIGGERS SUPERWEAPON VICTORY

12 MAY 3308
Pilots’ Federation ALERT
The invading Thargoid forces in the Didio, Novas and Sosong systems have been completely repelled by Salvation.
Vox Galactica journalist Jade Sanderlyn published this account:
“We’ve received confirmation from Commodore Morag Halloran that three anti-xeno superweapons were activated in Didio, Novas and Sosong. This caused the Thargoid fleets in all three systems to immediately withdraw into hyperspace.”
“It seems that the Thargoids have no defence against the Guardian-derived superweapon, which generates an electromagnetic pulse to disrupt their biomechanical technology.”
“Allied, Federal and Imperial taskforces have been keeping the Thargoids at bay for the last two weeks. Admirals Ziegler, Price and Atherton sent messages of congratulation to Salvation, who seems set to receive additional resources to improve superweapon production. For better or worse, it appears Salvation now plays a crucial role in humanity’s war against the Thargoids.”
The superpowers also offered rewards to independent pilots for contributing to the systems’ defences. Commanders can redeem Thargoid combat bonds at Plymouth Howl in the Ch'anjie system, Nusslein-Volhard Settlement in the Zlota system, and Sturckow Orbital in the Lesheima system.

There have been crashed Thargoid vessels across the target systems each time the superweapons have been used previously. Either having no crashed vessels is intentional this time, or for some reasons they're not in-game yet.

Maybe they are learning not to hang around when these weapons are deployed and getting out of Dodge a bit faster.

Pretty sure they had disappeared in all three systems at the time, was going around to see if there were Post-mission statements from any of the capships... interesting.

One thing i do know is last time i visited there wasn't a Vox Galactica tourist beacon - I'll check if that's a thing in Didio and Novas too while i'm around.
Edit - NHSS also present in Didio,
Edit 2 - and Novas... well, fascinating.

They were put in for the Galnet article IIRC - they voice the 2nd half of the articles. Around May 1st, so they were around when Salvation cleared the systems.

The tourist beacons weren't there during the incursions - there were capital class ships there instead (or in the case of Didio, a rescue ship with raider spikes attached...) and you got the interview logs as soon as you dropped in on them.
I'm not sure when the tourist beacons were added, perhaps it was very recently and whoever made that change fat-fingered something and caused the NHSS to be reactivated as well. In any case they make it easier to collect sensors/probes for the current CG.

The NHSS don't appear to be present in Horizons - at least I went there to check the claim that they fixed Sampling (they haven't, just the issue has been closed), and had to move on to the Pleiades because Sosong was a Thargoid desert in EDH.

Are those NHSS fixed, as they were during the CG?
Fixed as in they dont disappear when you supercruise out of them and you can always return in the same nhss which will have exactly the same content (same interceptor or the same single thargoid probe/sensor)

They're fixed as in the signals have no timer and will not disappear.
The contents can vary slightly; the interceptor type and type of item (sensor/probe/none) will always be the same, but sometimes the interceptor is there as soon as you drop in while other times it will only spawn after you pick up the item or not at all. And if you hang around in the NHSS long enough, both the item and the interceptor can respawn.

So when is the big Azimuth event supposed to start?
I'm assuming it'll be in HIP 22460 and involve Salvation setting off the Proteus device.
I'm also assuming a lot of Thargolds will show up and put up a fight. Maybe the devs have made this an event with battles around the megaships or something extravagant?
THe buildup and story stuff seems fun. Have there been any posts stating when this big battle is supposed to begin? I'm assuming GMT.

As the CG stated the charge up is allready live...

There has not been any date announced for when the attraction level will be reached...
There has been no date announced for when the release of the P wave will be after the atraction level is maxed No time frame given for these...
It could be a week between stages or it could all end Thursday if it relases galaxy wide...
There have been lots of NHSS in Hip 22460 allready....

I finished taking part in the community goal, and now I'm waiting in the system to see if anything happens.

For consistency, I'm in the same ship I used for the Gnosis incident! :D An imperial courier, an expendable moderately engineered exploring/fighting vessel, that can easily choose to fight or run away.

If things turn sour, carrier is parked in an empty system nearby, with the 40 other ships of the fleet onboard.. ;)
