Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Yes, the 8s I ran into were scouts with one interceptor that blasts the EM and leaves.

Not taking on scouts AND an interceptor by myself. I cleaned up the scouts though.

Funny thing, when you are armed for bear, I get just rabbits. So when I show up and there are both scouts AND an interceptor, I can't deal with both with the weapon set that I have.

I cleaned up the scouts because I retooled once all I was finding was scouts. That means normal weapons that won't hurt an interceptor anyway.

Are we still using the elite market manager addon to report these things? That's what I've had on.

Since 3.0 started NHSS 3-6 can be only scouts, NHSS 5-8 can be scouts + interceptor (note the overlap!). Only way to get solo interceptors is wrecks, or presumably missions from Aegis - though I don't do interceptors, so I may be wrong ;)

I winged up with a guy and we destroyed a Cyclops in Lusonda. You can find interceptors at Lusonda 2, cargo ship POI. Randomly though. Anyway, would a kill at a POI count towards saving the system or not?

That was the strongest cayclops i ever fought. I hope these count because its much more entertaining than scouts.

If you re-log at one of the mega-ships you can get different stuff to show. Ive had 1 cyclops, 2, sometimes a Basalisk, and a whole buch of Medusa. and I thought the Medusa were always hostile. Ive scanned dozens and have never been attacked by one.

Support for Lusonda and HR 1257 still very even, both should be saved. HR 1257 still has slightly more support than Lusonda.

Both systems have Wrecks if you wnat interceptors. Lusonda has Scouts in NHSS - HT 1257 also has the higher level NHSS with scouts + interceptor.

My FDL got pretty banged up, too. If we weren't in a wing I'd probably take more time to run and refill the shields (FDL has the speed to do it, harder in a Python) but I couldn't just take off for a few minutes, he he he!

Interceptor missions I tried. They are broken, but you are probably right.

They definitely feel broken alright. 10 mission target USS's i dropped into the other night with a friend chasing those missions, not a single thargoid spawn.

Relogging at the mega ships is the only way ive found them, which causes its own set of problems when trying to hunt in a wing. Bit of a shame really.

Yeah thats the same way i usually do it and any ship that does 470m/s+ can use that tactic, even a DBX. But i thought you gonna hate me if i run off :D.
But i think we don´t have to do it that way in a duo. Its more about sharing the aggro and switching between Swarm and Interceptor. For example i keept trying to get its attention when it was facing you but everytime it started to turn you shot it again and keept the aggro for yourself ;).

Well, i hope we can try that sometime again versus a Basilisk. Those things still give me headache and soloing Cyclopses gets boring.

Traffic reports show HR 1257 should be safe, Lusonda is still marginal, though it should be ok:
(Lusonda is at 82 ships/day - normally values > 75 have been ok. For comparison HR 1257 is at 97)

Chiggi and me are wreaking havoc among the poor aliens in Lusonda. :D

Firstly, thanks for saving my skin yesterday. I didn't even notice my hull fell down to 4%! Pushing the wrong buttons (literally) cost me dearly. I don't think I even got the bonds, will check.

Do you need to be in certain radius to qualify for the bonds? I was at about 12km when I saw Chiggi destroy the Cyclops.

New Xeno hunter signing on. Recently hit the Triple Elite, and have just last night finished outfitting a fully-engineered Anaconda with hull reinforcement and shield boosters to the nines. Loadout is 4 Guardian Gauss, 2 remote release flak and a couple of small beams with heat vent.

I've followed the tactics videos so feel like I've got a handle on things. Point me at 'em!

Sounds like you want to take on Interceptors with that loadout ;) Try the wrecks (Bowman and Lowell in HR 1257 near outer Ammonia Worlds, James in Lusonda closer in) relog until you get one you want, I'd suggest starting with the Cyclops, then Basilisk. If you want to mix in scouts as well then HR 1257 has NHSS 6/7/8 which should have scouts + interceptor - be aware that the interceptor will attempt to disable you when it jumps in!

There's a thread for the AXI (Anti Xeno Initiative) in this forum that should have better info, this thread is mainly just trying to make sure we save both targets (which we should do this week). Have fun!

Lusonda is a Teabagger system, so possibly more worthy than the other (which happens to have been my home base before moving to Shinrarta) - time to compensate Teaka for the Smeaton thing? ;)

Killed about 100 scouts there during the last days, plus some Cyclops (a half-dead Basilisk combat logged on our valiant bunch! How come?). Note that NHSS 6 is not guaranteed to contain Interceptors, most of the time, you meet 12 scouts there and that's it.

OK...color me nub. Just built an Anaconda to take on my first Cyclops. Went to HR1257 and all NHSS seem full of scouts. Not really set up to deal with them...just looking to try a single Cyclops. Went to the Bowman and Lowell ...and just the wrecks there. How do I find a single Cyclops/interceptor and no scouts? Do I need to move down to the Maia area?

I've had to exit/re-drop at the Bowman wreck a few times. The Interceptor will randomly be there. Carefully check what kind of Interceptor, I've thus far seen both Cyclops and Basilisk at the Bowman.

Over at the Lowell, I never did get an Interdictor to appear. Maybe just bad luck, though.

How many relogs did you try? Can take a few.
