Yes, next major revision (1.3) will have everything fixed. :) I've spent a lot of time polishing everything.

Thats good news :) ..... A bit more info on the bug ..... when i take control to stop it crashing i use down thrusters to get down to the pad it seems to want to fly off left and up slightly just caught this happening so it might be helpful for you ;p

It's all fixed. Landings are nice n smooth now. Outpost landings might look a bit scary (okay, so flying straight towards a pad at speed might be a bit worrying ;) )... but ya gotta trust me... it lands just fine. :)

Definitely much better, though I am flying the 'conda right now. I'll try the Python at an outpost, curious to see what it is like. Nice work Sarah :)

As someone who's been based at an outpost for the past several evenings, that's very good news.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. I'm excited to try out the new improvements.

When you're working on AI of NPCS in combat do you program in 'mistakes' to make them more human?

Trust you... are you the same Sarah Jane Avory who takes such glee from our deaths at the hands of Elite Anacondas??? :)

Still encountering an issue, the docking goes as normal and then the ship just sits above the pad not touching down. I managed to capture a screenshot. Thankfully no tea making was involved and I was able to take control and land manually.

Note "approach docking bay"

Hi Sarah,

i didnt read through all the posts here and i dont know if your talking about the 1.3 major update in concern about autodocking on outposts but i have an issue now with my Python when i try to autodock on the medium Pads. The docking computer gets in a distance about 1.2km to the dock and stops doing anything then. I alway have to deaktivate him and manually dock on the landing Pad then.

Just tested to autodock on an outpost with my Python again and after i waited 2-3 minutes the docking computer actually started docking on the landing pad.

But overall i have to say the docking computer does his job very well now.

now you'll be able to request docking from anywhere around the station and it will navigate to the correct point by setting ENG pips to max and using full thrust.

...

And dare I say I would love to add an auto-launch system for players..? Hmm...

Yay for the first one, and hmmmmm... frankly, just for the heck of it, I wouldn't mind having the option of automated departures. Doesn't mean the game plays itself, and hey, you're always gonna be more efficient flying yourself, but this is supposed to be 1000 years in the future so some comfort features are to be expected :)

Yeah, I like the idea!

BTW all my fixes and updates need a full test and thus are going into v1.3, so you won't have them just yet. Next version (v1.3) will be so much better. :)
Okay, I'd better get back to devising more ways to kill players... ;)
