Two votes. One for the Logitech G940 which was bought to play this and the second for my old Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 which has been doing great service as my main Alpha test controller so far.

I intend to start playing with the keyboard and mouse and also the XBox 360 controller. Later if I take a joystick, I will take the X52 Pro because it is the reference on the forums. And it will certainly be cheaper because the new models will be commercialized

Only 2 votes for the fly 5 :( surely Alien and I aren't the only ones with that stick (I know Alien has this stick because its been mentioned on another thread and a twitch tv stream). Are you all filthy rich that you can afford the x52 pro :D

The Speedlink Black Widow, a good value flight stick for the money. I would love an X52 pro though if I could afford one, but for now the Black Widow servers my needs very well. :)

Sadly, as a leftie I've had to vote other, will be going for the Thrustmaster T.16000M.

Wanted a nice 'full' HOTAS with thrust separate but apparently I'm too much of a freak :p

(also too long in the tooth to contemplate learning to fly right handed)

EDIT :- lol Susim, beat me to it :)

I have owned a standard x52 for years.
There was no Pro version at the time.
I wonder... Has anybody experienced the difference between the two?

I have also been thinking about a CH fighterstick and throttle. My first serious stick was a CH and I still feel it was the best one I ever owned.

Other interesting options seem to be the new Saitek X55 Rhino and the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog.

To be honest I am very confused about this myself. I just don't know what to do. Problem is also that there are virtually no stores anymore with serious joysticks on display so you can get a feel first. You just have to order and pray to the gods of gaming you will like it.

Seeing Elite Dangerous developing so extraordinary well the amount of money I am prepared to spend on a new stick is growing.

The main difference I have found between thx 52/pro is the harder spring on the pro. Apart from that not a huge difference although the pro has better sensors as well particularly the twist axis.

I also must agree it is rare to see joysticks on display these days which does make purchasing a bit trickier.

Once the first beta comes around, I will be using my Thrustmaster Warthog which I have been using for some time in an online WW2 Combat sim, Aces High, so am very comfortable with it. I also use Saitek rudder pedals with the HOTAS.

As my husband, Wrongway, is currently involved with Alpha testing, I have been able to assign the default key-mapping to my setup and have completed charts for both the joystick and the throttle if they are of interest to anyone. :)

I have the fly 5 too, but I'm tempted to purchase an x52 'cus i like the idea of a seperate throttle.

I am currently using my trusty old Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 which has been great so far. :)

Sometimes I do find myself wanting a few more buttons though, so I am thinking of getting a new stick at some point ... not sure which one yet though.

The posts from this thread might give me some suggestions, however :)

I'm going for CH Pro Throttle and Pedals, and now seriously wondering whether to go for a CH stick of the Thrustmaster one  how can one indeed decide when there is no store to test them at?!?
