I just orderd (with some help) a slightly used x52 pro online. I hope it is good match i never played such game like this before.

It's a good stick and works very well with E: D. I bought the non-Pro x52 specifically for this, and I love it. :)

Saitek Cyborg X Fly 5 flightstick

I have purchased myself a Saitek Cyborg X Fly 5 flightstick and this is working very well in Elite Dangerous.

I do have one question tho... Where is button 12 on the flightstick? I see that I have a feature in Elite Dangerous mapped to button 12, yet I am not sure where this button actually is.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, button twelve is the scroll up on the little mouse wheel thing. Button 13 is scroll down. I too am enjoying the fly 5 but my x52 pro is due to arrive next week. Can not wait.....

X52 is rubbish, F.L.Y. 5 is way better :p

Actually button 12 is the shift button that allows you to access the other 11 buttons (giving 22 in total). The mouse wheel scroll isn't classed as a button.

Well when I scroll it up a notch it says button 12. And when I scroll it down it says button 13. And button 14 is the button at the back of the stick underneath the hand rest. Don't know what to tell ya.

Yep the FLY 5 is doing a marvellous job. Had some gift vouchers so thought I would fling them at an x52 pro....I guess I'll see which I prefer.

Look, never have any mouse wheels ever registered as a button when scrolled, they simply don't work like that, so you're wrong.
Secondly, the official website http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/fly5.html says 12 buttons, not 14
Thirdly, the button at the back of the stick under the hand rest is unmarked other than a red dot to indicate it is a shift button.

You're wrong.

As wonderful as Saitek products are, it amazes me that they rarely seem to provide a map of the joystick buttons. I have yet to figure out where/what "JOY 19" is on my Saitek X52 Pro. I simply can't figure it out, and umpteen Google searches have also come up empty. Still love the stick, though.

Good luck! :)

Saitek X52 Pro - where is button 19???

Apologies for the stupid question but I have searched high and low for the whereabouts of the mystical button 19. According to Saitek software its surrounded by some sort of trimming dial. I have prodded, pushed, twisted, turned and slid everything I can think of - but button 19 remains elusive.

Help me Obi Wan Kanobi - you're my only hope!

Look on the throttle.

Did take me several days 2 to find button 19, altho the noob i was i had trouble find the secondary fire button 2 , until i found out it was hidden as a black button on the joystick next to the Power distribute button.

Lol, said with such conviction.

On my fly 5, I use the scroll down wheel one click to go into reverse thrust. One up click to set 0% speed. The button mapping in elite dangerous says that the up scroll action is button 12 and down scroll is button 13. Clicking on the button below the hand rest (button 14) actually has two orange squares side by side, on empty and one partially filled in and is not unmarked except for a red dot.. This incidentally I use to activate the cargo scoop.

So despite whatever the official website says, try plugging it in and see what happens. This is probably the reason why the op could not find button 12.

Ah yes - that one I did find!

OK, one last attempt, a scroll wheel does not work like a button. Yes you can use it for throttle, I've never said you couldn't. What I am saying is the scroll wheel is NOT button 12 or 13 because the joystick has 12 buttons and button 12 is the button with the red square / dot on it.

Seriously, do you not understand what binary is? On or off. A red square or an empty square. Shift on or shift off. That button is a shift button and gives you 22 buttons (11 times two).

It even says here http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/v5stick.htm SHIFT BUTTON .... 12 BUTTONS
You're wrong. End of. Stop arguing.

Ahh, the ever elusive button #19... took me a while to find it as well, amongst a few other "buttons" hidden in places I didn't expect (like on the two display panel scroll wheels)

I am not arguing. I am not wrong. I am just stating the facts. Yes the website says 12 buttons. Yes there is a scroll wheel. In the control options elite dangerous recognises the action of the scroll wheel to be button 12 and 13 with the shift button to be button 14.

The concept of binary is irrevalent. The op said the game indicates he has control mapped to button 12 on a saitek fly 5 and that he like you can not find any reference to button 12. I merely informed him what the game accepts is button 12.

For some reason you, who appears not to have a fly 5 or you might have plugged it in to check the facts, seem hell bent saying I am wrong when I actually use the stick....
