I believe he just explained how it reduces the amount of targets he has as a pirate. It's not like he has my sympathies but it's a valid reason.Isn't that their loss? How is their eroding of their ED experience in anyway affecting any of us and our enjoyment of the game?
I keep seeing this tendency to worry way too much about "the other guy" all the time. What they have, how they got it, how it negatively impacts "their" long term ED experience.
WHO CARES?
I mean seriously. You reap what you sow. End of story.
Nope, 99% of all good games I know don't start by giving you the top gear in the very beginning. You don't start at level 100 in a RPG and you don't start with the biggest base in a RTS and you don't start with a finished story in an adventure.Nice! Where do you want your scarecrow delivering to?
Bad game design is timegating all the desirable, good stuff behind insufferable grinds and ridiculously bare and featureless progress bars. That's bad game design, right there.
PS
And that's as far as I am getting into this discussion. You either have no idea about video games or you see my point. There is no reason to waste your time trying to change my mind. You can't possibly come up with an argument that I didn't think about.
