So people i know you guys are arguing about rabbits, hares and sloths, but may i present another enticing option?

I’d be really surprised if we got ducks considering theirs so many missing waterfowl in game. I’d be disappointed if we got a duck over spoonbill and pelican. I do know almost every zoo has ducks but I think I’d rather have another subspecies of flamingo at this point. Swans also would be a great choice. I don’t know everyone has a different opinion on what should and shouldn’t be in game. Between ducks, sloths, and hares. Sloth definitely as it’s a pretty common zoo animal. Ducks, rabbits, and hares in a world of unlimited support sure but with maybe only 3-5 dlcs left no thanks.

Depends on the type of duck, really. Mallards or generic white domestic ducks wouldn't go over all too well on its own, but I don't see the Mandarin duck, for example, as being any less deserving over any other waterfowl. They're flashy, common, and not out of place in mixed aviaries. I mean, I'd probably still prefer a swan or spoonbill, sure, but really I'll take whatever I can get.

I think it was this thread where chinchillas were discussed a few pages back? I've been thinking about them a lot lately and I think they'd be a great choice. They could work in South America sections, or petting/children's zoo sections, or basically just wherever as a tiny space-filler. They'd be a pretty solid addition in a mountain pack or whatever, I think.

A Shame though that we couldn't have them properly in a Pond in something like a Madagascar House then😕
oh the Madagascar teal are perfect for mixed bird aviaries, especially a Madagascar house, just that they need strict entry procedures. fresh air and weather so ponds yes. disinfected shoes and one way route and no local wildlife allowed. Would probably keep them away from the in-game lemurs as well.

ducking back into Winter speculation and some heavier set animals I think it's time we are be introduced to these guys...

i wasn't expecting them to be so adorable.

With an accompanying adult these Musk Ox calves could be flagship animals for a winter based dlc

We already have a winter based DLC. I don't see them retreading the same theme twice.

Screw seasonal theming. One winter rainforest animal pack please. 😎

1. Mexican Spider Monkey
2. Matschie's Tree Kangaroo
3. Golden Lion Tamarin
4. Yellow Armadillo
5. Fishing Cat
6. Red River Hog
7. Visayan Spotted Deer
8. Two-toed Sloth sp. (WE)

For me armadillo, sloth, tamarin and big monke is enough to exceed my needs for south american tropics. Adding more carinvorans than we have for such unique continent with long isolation peroid is considered crime in my books.

This would be my dream. Pretty much the exact lineup I would suggest too (give or take one or two). Honestly, this is what I’m holding out hope for. I NEED MY SLOTH!!!

Pretty good line up. I wonder though....I'd think they'd want to get another use out the Siamang rig with another gibbon. Unless the Spider Monkey would come from that? Either one's a good choice and the need for more New World Primate faaaaaar outweighs the need for Old World Primates (at least, IMO)

I think the Madagascar Teal could be kept in a separate Entrance Area where the Guests then walk through the new Curtain to enter the big Main Hall with the other Animals. 🤔 I wonder if Lemurs eat Eggs or if you could keep them together with other Birds without any Problems. Also the Musk Ox Calves are absolutely adorable 🥰 Learned a While ago that there's a Farm where they try to domesticate them. As far as I know Musk Ox Wool is one of the warmest Materials (at least of the natural ones) to make Winter Clothes and other Stuff out of. I bet a Musk Ox Blanket would be extremely comfortable 🙂

The White faced Whistling Duck would be really nice. For their huge Range alone already but they also look really awesome

I'd absolutely love a second Gibbon or some other brachiating Primate. Spider Monkeys also do that a lot but they also use their Tails for that too as far as I know so it might be a bit challenging to get the Animations right

If we were to get any waterfowl species, I would take a goose first and foremost (the bar-headed being my top choice of those) - they are just as comfortable walking around on land as they are swimming and geese of some description are generally rather common in zoos.

Talking more specifically about ducks, I would personally hope we got one of the diving ducks - something that could use the underwater navigation and also use either the underwater fish or plant feeder. Some good examples could include:

1. An eider - The king eider is certainly the most colourful of these large polar-dwelling marine ducks, while the European eider is the largest and most commonly-kept species and both the spectacled and Steller's eiders are also very attractive birds.

2. The scaly-sided merganser - An endangered East Asian species that is kept in both America and Europe (12 zoos on each continent); they are a fairly large and impressive species that would use the underwater fish feeder, as they are one of the unusual predator saw-billed ducks.

3. The white-headed duck - I think my personal favourite - an endangered bird that breeds in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. They are naturally very reluctant to fly and prefer to swim to avoid danger, so would feel natural in an open-air enclosure. They are omnivorous but mainly eat plants, so would become the third species to use the underwater plant feeder.

As always I'll advocate for the white-faced whistling duck (covers South America and Africa) and the common mallard (covers almost everywhere else). Just so I can throw a null barrier around a pond and pretend they're wild ducks.
Mandarin Duck would also be nice but I don't think it would be very likely to get 3 Ducks, so I'd already be happy with the ones you mentioned🦆
