I don't think that's what he meant by games.
I thought it was obvious, but post updated.
I don't think that's what he meant by games.
I will be stockpiling a few G5 modules for conversion before this goes live.
As it is for me.
I'm probably exactly the same as you. I only did mat hunting to specifically look for the mats I needed at that time. Your posts appear to suggest that this means I'll not have enough mats to hit the 100 limit (and therefore not be able to gain significantly from this new storage or the traders) but I think back to my experience of it and I feel it most definitely will have a positive impact on my ability to build up a healthy volume of storage across all grades.
In fact, the basic premise that I'll be able to theoretically look at the row of mats where that elusive g4 or g5 mat sits, then pick any of the much easier mats from g1 to g3 that require activities I don't mind so much, then hand those in to get what I want, is pretty exciting.
Potentially... Exactly how easy that'll be remains to be seen. But I definitely don't recall having issue with building up a ton of g1 to g2/3 items, and I never did mat hunting unless I needed to.
There are still far too many variables to be 100% certain the changes will increase the grind for me.
IMHO
People crying - you've done the grind, you've most likely got your special toy. Now, everyone else, with undoubtedly a little less effort can create toys with close to the same effects.
Your special toy isn't so special anymore and you're going to have to learn fly.
I think alot of folk are way, way overreacting too much to the changes. When you want the best you possible can get out of your ship; you can easily spend days and days getting the materials to do 300 rolls on ONE module just on the off chance of getting that maxed out secondary.
These changes will allow you top it out much, much sooner so having to roll every module seems a decent trade off.
It's all about that bigger picture.
If you watched the stream of today you saw that they showed off the new system. To make things short.
Forcing us to roll a module 5 times to "complete" rank 1 to progess further to rank 2 is just a waste of time and material as it is waste of time finding all those material.
The materials required to go through 2,3 and 4 to finally roll 5 is such a huge new time sink that you will probably have to spend all your time on RNG jesus in order to aquire the tidious bits for the grades noone wants and uses.
They even adressed it quickly and said thats not a new grind. LIES, Do you even play your own game?.
Solutions to this is
1.) Remove the barrier and let us roll staight to G5 from 0
2.) Remove the utter clutter of different Materials. Create a CLEAR and CONSISTENT way of aquiring Materials.
Those engineers will have lots of g5s to do in the next weeks. you are not alone.
I'm not sure why people are complaining about this new system being a grind.
Still I'm not sure about having to do the entire progress from grade one to five every time for each module.
Why even have a feedback section??
I'm just going to jump in here and leave my two cents. Apart from a niche selection of PvP players that already spend hours collecting mats in order to get the illusive god rolls, this update is a massive downgrade from the current system. The fact that every module has its individual grind from 0 to 5 means that I am going to be spending 4 to 5 times the amount of mats upgrading a ship to a low G5. This also means that before I can even do that I must collects the mats. Sure there is less RNG in the actual crafting menu, but there is now more RNG more the mat collection. For having spent hours in deep space looking for grade 5 mats from unknown signal sources, I can tell you this will not be fun or faster or encourage the use of engineers... Even with material traders.
