Someone should start a petition. Make a version with twist yaw and elite has a big enough community I'm sure it'd be worth their while, not to mention star citizen and other upcoming space sims

Nope, real HOTASs don't and its pretty much an exact replica

Aww... Does anyone know of a decent joystick that DOES have twist for yaw? (one that does NOT break after a couple of months [looking at you Saitek]).

I like playing Elite sitting down and don't want pedals to yaw as I might have to relearn how to use my feet ;)

I'm on my 3rd right now - and it's kinda on its last legs.

Remember :
Typically they're now all Made in China. Not Made to last... :D

Fairly sure I've seen people play SC with a HOTAS.

Nothing else is even near the quality of the warthog. I make do with a X55 but it feels like its made by fisher price in comparison

The Thrust Master Hotas X is good enough with a S curve software. Can't really go wrong with it as cheap as it is. Quality build and quality performance. Figure in some modifier keys and the stick can have several hat switches.

Get a microsoft force feedback 2 from ebay. Best joystick ive owned and ive owned literally all of them. Has twist control also. The most comfortable stick ever made.

Since the Logitech 3D is not quite as sturdy as I first thought, I ordered a Warthog on Saturday. How may hours should I plan for setting it up?

Thanks mate - I'll give it a look.

Probably don't need too many extra buttons with voice attack (Avon at the moment), and I predict my X52 is gonna quit in a month or two :D .

Or maybe this one... :)

I think my Warthog took me about an hour to iterate a good control set when I got it last week.
coming from the T16000m the lack of yaw on twist took a while to unlearn, and the pinkie buttons are very firm. But it feels like a proper big of kit :)

Yeah if you have VA you shouldn't have too many issues at all.

Haha, I thought I was the only one
Got mine for over 15 years maybe, don't know for sure. I'm positive that when I bought it, there was no Euro currency, so yeah... :p
It's still looking and working as good as new!

Used to happen to me every time there was an update, back in the days when that happened a lot more frequently.
For the last few it has been fine, until tonight and I've lost them again. :/
Mind you we had nearly 1ft of rain last night and I suspect my PC might have been left running through a brownout, so if that's all I've lost then I guess I shouldn't grumble...

EDIT: Tell a lie, my bindings ARE still there, just that my PC decided my HOTAS wasn't - despite it obviously being plugged in and powered up. Nothing to see here!
