There's a good chance I will attempt a Steam controller first; it's supposed to be programmable, with the touchpad potentially useful in many different ways.

No pedals in that list? Heck they complement a good HOTAS set-up, so should have been included too....

In this case, X-52 with CH pro pedals.

X65f and Thrustmaster Warthog.

The Warthog is for sale in the Hardware section, given I now have a pressing 'soon to be ex-job' situation plus my computer needs repaired.

Just to say, that's for sale on Amazon for £93.80 at the moment.

x52 issues in alpha 3.2

Hey everyone, quick poll on favoured Joystick.

If selecting 'Other' please leave the name below.

Thanks for your votes!

I don't know where else to leave this so I guess Ill do it here.

I picked up a Saitek x52, loaded up elite, and selected the x52 profile under the control menu.

the main controls work, but there are a few buttons that don't seem to be working right now.

Mainly, button 30 (the engine boost) and 9 & 10, which are suppose to switch between the primary and secondary firing modes.

Has anyone out there gotten this stick to work properly or am I just experiencing human error?

Just another note, I managed to upgrade to the gimbaled pulse lasers, and then after leaving the station found that I could no longer shoot.... so there's that as well.

Logitech Attack3 because they don't make them like this any more strong hard heavy and durable .
Plan to save up and buy X52 pro and test for durability and if it passes will use that .

Elecom controller

I'm currently using an Elecom game controller and it's working extremely well, I was thinking of going down the flight joystick route and probably still will eventually.

Saitek's rep is very bad for durability. Cool looks, cheap plastic insides, I'm afraid.

Just had a thought for all you sinister left-handers out there:

If you're looking for a HOTAS setup, why don't you consider your normal joystick along with one of these Saitek throttle quadrants?

Not absolutely ideal of course, but it would achieve the same effect.

Amazon link.

Being a lefty, I've just taken delivery of a Thrustmaster T.16000M
First PC joystick I've own for years (last one I got was for X-Wing and plugged into my soundblaster card LOL)
Having a blast with Oolite, should have got one sooner.
Thanks to this forums members for making me aware of this stick :)
Can't wait for the Beta to arrive.

I have purchased the x52pro, which , unless someone who owns this and others can tell me, is probably the best bang-for-buck HOTAS out there. anyone care to shed some light?

Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System

Quick couple of questions:

I'm a total novice when it comes to flight simulators. Was thinking of getting the Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System as lots of folks are saying how good it is. Do you think it will be way above my head as a novice or is it easy to get used to? Added to this does anyone know any shops that sell it in the UK, as so far have only managed to see it on Amazon and E Bay?

Easy to use. Buy it. You won't look back. Programming it and getting it set up how you want could be a bit of a challenge if you feel intimidated by such stuff, but there's plenty of people around here to help you, and the default profile is pretty good anyway.

Best UK price as far as I'm aware is Dabs:
