Need to buy a proper flightstick for that. Warthog for the win.

You still need 6 axis, and by design a single joystick and throttle, however good don't seem to cater to such a scenario, and digital thrust control is a feeble imitation for vertical and lateral thrust, I find two joysticks provides a really elegant solution, though would like to be able to overload the forward axis. Classic flight control combinations are not designed for 6 analog axes, though they do have a lot of good extra features; you can do it with two joysticks and pedals (assuming you can set the pedals up with a hold option rather than requiring constant pressure) as someone said earlier (also its a she)

I use the Thustmaster T Flight Hotas X. I miss some finishing touches on the hardware like some rubberized layer and such. Also the buttons in the throttle could have been better designed. Pricewise that can be forgiven considering what other brands offering in that price area.
I use my joy7 key and the joy3 key as shift buttons. I can control everything with my HOTAS. Don't forget how great ED is to use shift function. I noticed in some other games i shall not name this isn't even always possible and flying with joystick was very annoying. I didn't need to touch any sensitivity options in ED, while in other games it seems i am justr better off with a mouse. You don't want to go back from a HOTAS to a kb+mouse ;)

While not designed for it, you can do it easily enough with a decent hotas - e.g. the ch throttle with it's thumbstick. Personally I think any alternative would have has many cons as pros.

I currently use an Xbox 360 controller (wired) and have found this much easier to use than a normal joystick setup, I can't comment on comparison vs an X52 style setup. My only very minor gripe with the Xbox controller is that I still have to use the keyboard to get the destination/comms/info panel to popup.

Every other major function/feature that I use in game can be controlled.

Core Dynamics Corvette

So it looks like the Anaconda has got some real competition. One things the confuses me, the newsletter say's it is the biggest player controlled 'Federations ship' are the Conda and T9 fed ships?

Yeah just saw it in the new newsletter (#61).
Seemingly belongs with the 1.2 update and I have to say it looks pretty sweet. Kinda like a mini capital ship.

Not if you want to trade. It will probably be pretty combat focused (it is a corvette after all), my guess is that it will be in the same or slightly higher price class than the Anaconda.
Will probably be extremely expensive to purchase, fit and run, but I imagine that it would be pretty beastly in combat. Possibly quite fast, too, since Corvettes are supposed to be capable of acting as Independent combat ships as well as being part of fleet operations.
We really don't know much about this ship though.

Guess that you will need a high Federal Rep for that one though - shame since I have been busy selling my soul to the dark side !!

Like the look of it though, may need to shift my operation to the other side .. ..

They're kinda starting to look the same now the big ones. Like Anaconda, Python and now this one. Same triangle shape. Except the Clipper *drool*

Very nice although it would make a better Fer de Lance!

Funny you should say that, I had wondered if they had changed their concept art on the FdL when I first saw the picture (before reading that it's the corvette).

I would like to see a few of these bad boys flying alongside capital ships as support.

This looks like it could be to the Anaconda, what the Viper is to the Cobra.

Sadly is federal only, and probably more expensive than what my soul can stand to grind. I'll be waiting for more imperial ships.

I don't think this ship will have enough internal space to make trading worthwhile. My guess is that this (and possibly higher cost too) is the tradeoff to the Anaconda you make when you use this ship.

I did think they're all starting to adopt the same style. I hope we see a little more variation, the Empire certainly has them, but then this could simply be the Federation utilitarian styling so it would fit in a way.
