Imagine that with OR!
Fair few seizures I reckon...
I want to see the first video of a docking procedure taking the lazy pilot right into the side wall of the station.
I think even for big ships, having total control over them in busy areas is a much better idea than letting this current 'auto-wreck' system land youI have a feeling that it is not the smoothest at avoiding incoming player ships or NPCs for that matter.

Slow down to auto dock .. ok .. yay music .. ok, ride's a bit jerky and not really elegant .... there's the deck, vertical landing, hey bit fast ... WHAM !!
Well .. it docked it, but hull damage.
I think I'm going to just do it by hand till V2 is out.
(Ship was Hauler, with no cargo)
Hehe, it's a nice feeling to watch a small sidewinder that tried to overtake you get crushed against the letterbox and the bottom of the hull. No one interfere with my docking. Mwuhahaha!True, but I would be tempted to say that, when you are in an Anaconda, if someone doesnt get out of your way, it is there fault when they break up on your hull.![]()
Docking really isn't that hard once you have mastered it. It's part of the process of learning to fly IMO - won't have one, will never have one. And sorry that FD introduced one. To me it is a concession to today's attitude of - gimme now, I beat you, It's too hard I give up mentality.
Fair enough. Although I am not sure that "It takes some of the random collisions out of the game". From what I have read it seems that it progresses slowly as you say but does not vary from a straight-ahead route down the middle irrespective of other traffic and I reckon there is likely to be MORE collisions because of it.
Hehe, Im not so sure. Have you seen some of the landing attempts from new pilots? They are range from 1m/s crawls to suicidal.
